Stuck On The Missions Section of Fellowship Campaign

Im Stuck on Certain Parts Of the Fellowship Campaign And have come across a few dilemmas i need help with

1. Gandalf Just cant Seem to Find Rohans Riders (for the hornburg Quest)
2. Merry And Pipin have both died trying to get into isengard
3. What order should i do aragons quests in for ease
4.The Haradiam army justseems to walk around any ambushes i lay

Also is it better to Take Gimli Legolas And Aragorn to do each others quest or do i need to do them at diffrent times.

1: You must "search" in Westfold. Simple let Gandalf stand there for several turns.

2: You must only let them stand in this region.

3: Wait until Gandalf has finished Hornburg, then you have Rohan-Riders and such stuff. But then its maybe a little bit to easy.

4: You must not ambush them, you can simply attack them directly.

Later you need the troops, so it would be better if every hero complete their tasks. Also you haven´t endless time for this campaign.

I have an issue with the fellowship campaign too. As Aragorn I go and rescue the princess because I'm thinking that units later on could be benificiary. So I go down there with him, the grey company and a unit of blackroot vale mercinaries. And every time I attack the prison gaurd, the game crashes. I click start deployment and then it has an unexpected error or something and shuts down. Has this happened to anyone else? Other then that the fellowship is pretty fun, only issue is that Gandalf lost at the honbourg, the allied general died in the first minute (the whole army retreated after that)so I had to try and do everything myself in the snow (which I hate because I like to see what the enemy is doing) and lost. But is there some sortof way to fix this crash on the battle outside Umbar?

First, Hornburg: You will only win with the right tactic.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 

Make the allied general on defending and wait with your army as far away as you can until the whole Isengard-Army is turn to the allied general. Then crush into the back of the uruks, ride back and charge again. Try to kill the general and keep away from the pikemen. Maybe you can use some reinforcements from other missions. (I always use Aragorn+Grey Company; they killed over 500 Uruks in one Testround)

To the Crash: Please Upload your system log from after the Crash. You find it in:
\Medieval 2 Total War\logs

- try to play the battle
- Let Crash it to the Desktop
- Search with the following link:

Not me! I got hobbits out of nowhere, lost all my money to their wages (I payed hobbits to massacre a Nazgul or 11 TAKE THAT "FEAR!" The courage of money.)
And then the rebel generals MASSACRED Aragorn and his black company I missed the ambush zone, gandolf never found his men, the 2 spys are still invisible and i cant find them xD and frodo borimir and sam accidentaly attacked the reinforced army after the quest failed and were brutalized. The end !

lol! You make some mistakes i would say

(i have fow turned off FYI).

1) Ithilian mission; there were no Harad entering the region.

2) Spy Isengard; Pippen stayed there for 8 turns so far, right on the doorstep, nothing has happened.

3) Ents; Merry has been in the region for 10 turns, i got the message 'Met Treebeard' but nothing has happened, no ents, no new armies, nothing.

4) Gandalf is sitting at Westfold for 7 turns, nothing has happened.


I can understand that one thing needs to be done before the next, but there's nothing to tell me thus.
I have the Mirkwood mission going, they haven't 'entered Thandrul's Halls' yet but i've only had the army 3 turns. This mission seems to be ok but if it stalls like the others ill report back.
Also Gimly has the Dale army for a turn, so this seems to be ok also, i'll report back if otherwise.


My main concerns are;

I can understand the Riders not turning up if Iengard do not attack, so why doesn't Isengard attack? and what is going on with the ents? do thy not come because Isengard still hasnt launched their attack? should i send Merry off to Eriador for his mission or wait for the ent mission to start?

If you doing all right then its very strange and i don´t know, why the scripts aren´t fired.
Some points:
The Harad-Army arrive one or two turns after you get Faramir and they move from their spawn-point through ithilien.

Maybe you missed the message that you haved spy out Isengard and you have to went back to Baumbart ?
You should take a look into the mission-info of the Ent-Mission (The ???-Trait)

By the Way: Meet Baumbart and Spy out Isengard are the same missions and they take much time.
First you have to go into Fangorn and stand there, then you get the mission to spy out Isengard, stand there for several turns and when you have collect the evidences you must go back to Fangorn and wait there.
Then you get an Ent-Army with Catapults and you must capture Isengard. After this you will get one Ent-Unit.

.... i have placed him one test-round just before the border and don´t see that

Sorry that i can´t really help you... but if I'm honest i don´t have really an idea what is wrong with your fellowship-campaign.
I test it a hundred times and in the last Tests everything work perfect.

I had FOW off, and never saw a Harad army in the region at all, i considered leaving the region south to attack a tiny stack that wandered down there but i figured the challenge would be greater than a 3 unit stack.. so i waited but the BIG stack never came..

Maybe you missed the message that you haved spy out Isengard and you have to went back to Baumbart ?
You should take a look into the mission-info of the Ent-Mission (The ???-Trait)

I went to Fangorn, waited, read that i needed to spy out Isengard, (if i didnt see that i wouldnt have left Fangorn) then i went and sat at isengard for 8 turns.

I went back to the save just as i arrived in Fangorn, in this attempt the message to spy out isengard must have already happened before my save because i didnt see it but after 4 turns the 'evidence was found, and after 2 turns in fangorn i had ents. The only thing that went differently this time i think was gandalf went to westfold AFTER merry went to isengard. the first time i had gandalf in west fold prior to sending merry to isengard.

I went back to the save i reported, the one i sat in isengard for 8 turns, and i sat there another 7 turns and nothing happened... i think it was due to the original events with gandalf, i think sending gandalf to westfold first made the events with merry break..

the first time i sent him there nothing happened, but thay was the save were merry didnt get the 'evidence' so i think it broke somewhere after the orc battle outside fangorn and before entering fangorn. the load of the save i mad at this time corrected both the westfold and isengard mssions.

Thats also very nice. It take a long time until its playable like now.
I love also this new game experience you get, when you must play completely different as in a normal TW-Round. When you must collect the troops through the missions and your army is growing bigger and bigger... thats Awesome and i like it very much
