Just my current campaign.

Hey guys, just thought I would like to say hi since I am new and I decieded to make it different. I just wanted to share my campaign and I would like to hear about your guy's campaigns.

My campaign -
Right now I am playing as the Russians. I am allies with the Mongols and Milan. I am currently at war with England, the Danes, Poland, the Turks, and Hungary. I honestly was too lazy to take a screenshot of the current diplomacy and may be forgetting some stuff, but I'll just go over the big and important things in my game. Basically, the Mongols are steamrolling the east like usual, just recently taking Constantinople, and I think they want to attack me even though I am allied with them. I have a very good assassin standing around there just killing anybody I want to (I even killed the King of the Byzantines, the King of Hungary, and the King of Venice for the regicide missions!). I am slowing absorbing Poland in the north and I am planning an invasion of England to help out the Scots a bit even though we aren't allied. Oh and just some fun information, Denmark somehow took Frankfurt from the HRE I think, and are just sitting there because Poland and I took their settlements when we were allied. Also, the Papal States are sitting around exiled on Calgilari .

I think it is good with the Mongols and very good with Milan. Milan can't hurt me right now if they did betray me, they are too caught up in wars with Hungary, Papal States, HRE and I think Spain. If you look at the map, they are pretty big. The Mongols I know are going to betray me, I just needed time to build up while they storm the east. I have cannon towers in all the important and border settlements now, so they are pretty screwed if they attack. Like I also mentioned, I have the assassin near their leaders in case they attack, I can assassinate their leaders and let their troops rebel.

It is a hard one. I'm only playing on medium/medium though. The Mongols obviously backstabbed me and tried to seize Sophia. Hungary and Poland have stopped launching attacks oddly enough. I'm down to about 3000 gold, earning not too much but I'm positive at least. I repelled the attack at Sophia, I'm regrouping at Helsinki after a defeat near Thorn. I'm planning on regrouping and than moving into Thorn to takeover and shutdown most of Poland's unit production which will cause them to lose the war against Milan. My king was assassinated by the Polish... Bleh... Poland is going to get whats coming to them though... Oh and one last thing, I'm planning on invading England from Oslo to save the Scots for now. Basically my southern front is just defending right now, no plans are made to advance and my northern front is slowly chugging along.

O wow that's a nice campaign you got there ^.^ I haven't played as Russians yet because it's hard -_-.

Well my method for doing good as the Russians, is to ally with Poland and/or Hungary early on. I did that and I expanded east first instead of trying to immediately blitz south. I was blessed by the fact that the Mongols went south and that the Polish held up the alliance treaty for so long.

What is your global reputation by the way ?

Ugh I feel like such a noob asking this considering I have played all Total War games except for Napoleon (and I don't plan to buy Napoleon) but, how would I access this global ranking? Are you talking about the little thing on the end of turn report or the big chart about overall ranking and stuff?

I am dubious. I killed one of the Mongols generals (yay assassins!), and repelled them from Sophia AGAIN. Timurids invade. I am launching another attack to try and take Thorn. My assault on England from Oslo failed... Let's just say the King and his men went swimming... and didn't come back...

Well, Mr. OP you are to be congratulated for doing so well with the Russia, which I believe has the consensus of being the most difficult nation to play.

Are the Timurids going for Kiev or did they enter in the south? I would love to see a game where the Mongols and the Timurids went for the same home city.

They went south thank lord! I also like playing as the Russians though, their one unit of archers in late period (their best one, I forget the name) are fully armoured like heavy infantry and just massacre everybody. With about 31 of these guys, I took out 1 unit of Mongol horse archers, 1 unit of mongol infantry, and 1 small unit of Mongol light lancers. That was in a siege when they had run out of arrows. As for Russia being a hard nation to play, it can be very challenging sometimes I admit, but having said that, if you play your cards right in the early game and you are blessed that the Mongols and Timurids duke it out around Jerusalem and Antioch, you can have a good game. I am postponing my invasion of England, and I think I should instead have peace with Hungary and get trade rights for extra cash. I am also going to move and take Thorn as I have stated, the troops are on their way now and it should be like 2 turns...

Sorry for the double post but I just had to do it ...

The Mongols have been pushed back. They still have all their territory but they lost so many men attacking me and I assassinated so much of their generals they have no more men to attack with. I also ruined their economy and gained about 40k from ransoming their troops alone! I failed to take Thorn, but I did however take Halych (a different Polish castle). Nobody seemed to be in the mood for talking out peace treaties though...

So in a summary, I'm doing good. The Mongols have been repelled and will soon die from the Timurids, I gained a province, and my economy has improved a lot.
