darth mod willl not install:(

I download the darth mod like it said, I put it inwhere it said to, but when the download ends, it trys to open using steam and not trying to install HELP! I want to play this mod!!

Damn. I probably did something wrong (I'm running a clean 1.5), but I loaded the disc, I saw the Intro-screen and then it crashed.
Does this sound familiar?

I loaded the 8.0 into the c\program...\rome...
and did the same thing for 8.1, same directory.

I never saw a Desktop icon, is that a hint something bad happened?

OK I'm trying the 8.0 first on a clean 1.5.
Waiting to see if that works first, before the patch.
