    Default Freezes at Credits on Startup

    Hello all! My system runs Empire okay but NTW is freezing on the black startup/credit screen. Rather than tear my hair out I figure I would just ask for your expert advice. I installed .NET 4, Directx Web thing that was linked, and C++ 2005. Thanks! Here is my dxdiag:

    Thanks for the reply! I had already deleted the scripts folder. I gave up and went to bed and 3 hours when I awoke I heard the startup movies. I played the game for a bit. I restarted and discovered my windows firewall was corrupt. I repaired my windows firewall and turned it off. Now, I can get into the game by pressing Alt+Tab (In various combinations over and over and also clicking towards the middle where there might be a dialogue box) on the credit screen (usually getting in within a few minutes as opposed to an apparent few hours). What a disaster!
