Download links not working

I was wondering if this mod is still being supported? It appears so as I saw the creator posted a message this month.

However, I can not download any of the files hosted on File Front. I was able to download the first part of the mod from the alternative link. However, there is no alternative link for the second folder. And whenever I attemp to download from File Front, I get a "This Website can not be found" message.

Any suggestions?

Maybe they intend to put all the links back in order, but I doubt it. I will look at uploading the mod again. This will probably mean cleaning it up a little on account of the patches and hotfixes etc. All I can say is try again in a couple of days.

Thanks for the info. Your mod looks awesome, by the way, and I'm excited to try it out. Would it be possible for you to host the second folder on the same site that is currently listed as an alternative link to the first folder? Because I was able to download the first folder from the "alternative" site with no problem.

I will also check back with FileFront later, but let me know if you get the mod hosted anywhere else! (It would be awesome to have a cleaned up version with all of the patches for the wardogs, etc. already in it.)

Np, I'm uploading the original part 1 and 2 to the alt site as I type. Unfortunatley you'll need both these as the part 1 is different. I will make a new install with all the patch's and fix's included by the weekend, hopefully. So you might want to wait for that.

So the weekend upload will include all fixes - no need to install anything besides the two folders? Nice. I'm going to be busy until Sunday anyway, so no problem.

Many of the other mods seem to have a lot more forum activity, but I've looked through them all, and this one seems the most interesting to me (along with DarthMod). It looks like you're really expanded the map and just gone for fun instead of trying to add all of these realistic tweaks.

Question for you. If I decide to uninstall the mod, how do I do that? Do I have to uninstall Medieval II and then reinstall it?

Also - does the new version include the fix on the user display that I've read about?

Simple to uninstall as no registry entries are created. Just right click the expanded_americas3.2 folder and select delete.
This latest version uses a different approach to the UI problems that could occur mid game, that was resolved with the 3.1 patch. The fix that is manually required for all Kingdoms mods is still included. Check the display readme if you have any problems.

Downloaded both parts. Installed part 1 first, then part 2. I have an icon on the desktop for Expanded Americas. When I click on it, what appears to be a dos prompt window flashes up very quickly and then disappears. Nothing else happens.

I start up Medieval II grand campaign, and it appears to be unmodded. - I can only choose from starting factions of England, France, etc. Now, this is a new install and I have not played the grand campaign so nothing else is unlocked. However, if mod was properly applied, I should be able to choose from all factions, correct?

Any idea of what I may have done wrong?

EDIT: I do not see the folder for Expanded Americas in the mod folders of Total War. The individual Kingdom mods are in there, but no EA.

EDIT AGAIN: Found the problem. This is a new computer for me - for some reason, there are two Program File folders. Medieval was install in one, but EA was installed in the other. Merged folders and all is working now. I had the messed up user interface, so I copied the data folder from EA into the main folder for Medieval 2. Hopefull, this won't cause problems if I go back to vanilla. But right now the game is working great. Turns run smoothly, no problems. (Other than the fact that I'm playing as Norway, and the Teutonic knights have already landed a full stack army very near to one of my bases!!)

Just wanted to say thanks for all the work you put into this mod, it's great!

I'm already addicted. I think I played three or four hours straight today. Does this mod have tweaks to the battle system? It seems like the units have more staying power, not routing as easily, and it appears that the cavalry charge isn't quite as powerful. Still gathering thoughts on the battle AI and changes.

The campaign AI is great, though. Again, not sure if you actually made changes or if it's a result of other things, but it seems like the computer is a lot more proactive in making alliances, going to war, and zooming around on the map. Playing as Norway, and have secured most of the area around Scandanavia and am keeping a close eye on Denmark, which is encroaching ever closer, turn by turn. Allied with Scotland, and sent a fleet to invade England after they were excommunicated by the pope. It just seems like a lot more is happening with EA than the vanilla campaign.

Glad you are enjoying it, both the AI's are modded and there are some AI only traits for characters which make it somewhat less easy to put one over on the other factions.

I know you are finished with it, but I've noticed while playing Norway that the recruitment pics while in town for diplomats, priests, assassins, and merchants are all of a knight. Do you know of any easy way to change this? If not, not a big deal, as this is a very minor problem in a great mod!

Download the attachment, extract and put the .tga's in the folder indicated in the file name.

By application do you mean the installed game or the installer for one or both of the downloaded parts? Or even the hotfix 2 posts above...
