    Default Mouse Lag

Don't know why I have it. I play Medieval 2 total war, a more demanding game, and my mouse works perfectly fine and is accurate. Whenever I play Rome TW, or any of it's mods for that matter, the mouse always seems kinda drifty or floaty, which makes it hard to quickly give commands in battle, so I end up pausing constantly. I kinda have to move the mouse and then wait for it in a way instead of just quickly snapping back and forth. Anyone else notice their mouse working differently in RTW?

I have mouse lag too, but online.
I found that unticking "enhance pointer precision" helps slightly.

I have the same problem, the mouse is so annoying. I bought the game from White Label series, so i decided i am gonna buy orginal now, and see maybe that would fix it. I am not sure.

I had the original (and then lost it) and now the white label series version, and have the mouse lag on both.

It's in the Control Panel. Then look for Mouse. Possibly under devices.

I found this in another forum online:

The easiest way to get rid of mouse lag is to reduce the graphics load. Reduce your graphics settings.

    Also, try this:
    1. While in the game, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
    2. On the Applications tab, right click on the RTW entry and select "Go to Process" - it will change to the Processes tab with the RTW entry highlighted.
    3. Right click on the highlighted RTW Entry, mouse down to "Set Priority" and select either "Realtime" or "High".

That will mean that the computer will prioritise RTW ahead of everything else when deciding what processes to dedicate CPU time to (it basically does the RTW calculations and then does all the other stuff that Windows runs in the spare time it has left). Reducing the number of concurrent processes (shutting down other programs and stopping things like MSN from loading when you start the computer) will also make it run faster.

Better not turn it on to Realtime or High because else your computer will focus more on RTW than on computerservices which will just slower RTW down more than it would speed it up. Higher than Normal should be OK enough, High only if necessary and I don't recommend realtime at all. Try to shut unnecessary things down like the internet (if not playing online) and your virusscan if you're not online and you're sure you don't have any virusses on your pc.

ya but if you do that in an online match you will crash it so it would only work for SP.

well I tried it and it doesn't fix the problem much anyway. Although I've never played a computer game online lol. Probably should try it

Well, I found I greatly reduced the mouse lag on the menu screen by reducing the size of it, however I am still working on how to reduce the game map size's so dont ask after them yet.
