    Default Old Guard

The battle of waterloo ended with the retreat of the old guard, this caused the rest of the french to head for the hills (in a nutshell). Now what if we could recreate this in NTW say you happen to by some miracle rout and Old guard unit im suggesting that the rest of the French units suffer a penalty to morale similar to a general dieing.

Just a thought i had while playing

They do suffer a morale penalty; firstly, the "Inspire" bonus is gone when the OG breaks, second, the "Friends Routing" sets in.

im thinking an army wide thing not just the nearby units. almost a second general dieing debuff.

Hmmm... it would create a risk for taking them, but I think it would be over the top.
IMHO, the nearby unit effect is strong enough as is and can easily result in a mass rout (I guess this also models what happened at Waterloo, like news of the fleeing OGs spreading).

What I do think should be done is making "Inspiring" units unable to be inspired themselves, so the unroutable double OGs are a thing of the past.

I think peolpe would just exploit it, simply as that: As long you cant kill the enemy General with your art, shoot the hell out of the OG...
Some games would ending, even the french have still 80% of their army.

I dont personally find old guard too difficult to kill i target them as soon as i see them in any army, a good cav charge and line moves up they die like all other lines
