depends what your definition of "slow" is.

I have a core 2 E7200, 3gig and a radeon 4850.
When i first installed the mod i tought the AI turn was a killer (took about 20-30 seconds), but the depth of the gameplay sucked me in so i decided to act: i removed as much program from startup as possible, overclocked my machine, installed the alex.exe mod (alex.exe improves performances dramatically), and set a core afinity exclusively to the game - first turns take about 10-15 seconds now, and tbh i barely notice anymore.

I hope you can find a workaround about your slowness

I've played EB for two years on an old Pentium 2.4GHz, 512MB rig with an ATI radeon 9200.

EB is so good, you take the waiting times with it - an you can read, work, work-out, etc... while playing too.

Increasing the RAM helps a lot. 2GB for XP or more for Vista should be enough, disable Antivirus-Programs while playing. As mentioned ALEX speed up the enginge also.

Yes, this comes from Maksimus, Bi works with Ferromancers installer. You can find them in the sub-mod forum (I think here too, but in any case also at the .org)

oo i only have 19 g for hard disck ram i dont knowww drrrrrrr
i played the game it takes alot of time just tu get to de menu then i chose a imperial campaing then was ok but when i chose my army get stuck for like 1 30 sec then i can move but goes soo slow ill try to download the alex program thank you so much guys

Yea for me it takes like almost two minutes to boot up the game. I have a core 2duo 2.2ghz with 3 gb of ram and an nvidia 7950gtx overclocked so the turns don't take longer than 15-20 seconds until I have a much larger portion of the map visible because I alsways have it follow AI movements that I can see, once I even forgot to toggle off the fow cheat so it took like 8 minutes.

Well I turned off "campaign map shadows". Made the turns also a bit faster in my campaigns.

a thing that sucks in Alex.exe is the friendly fire that kills more of your troops than the AI...
