The Smiths were great, too bad Morrissiy's contiental sized ego got in the way.

I could listen to Half A Person on loop for hours and hours.

I love Morrissey's continental sized ego, that man is a prophet and poet and can do no wrong in my eyes!

I prefer 'Stop me if you've heard this one before', but some douchebag ruined it with a terrible cover.

I love this underrated somewhat rareish song. (rare in the fact no one mentions it, or lists it as a great Smiths song or you never really hear it.) But I think it really is cracking.

It's great, they have a huge amout of tracks, alot of gems get over looked for the more common ones.

Johnny Marr should get more props than Morrissey, man can sing good but Marrs guitarplay made the songs.

What has Marr done since the Smiths broke up? Compare that with Mozza and his very successful solo career.

Marr's great guitar melodies defo played a big part no doubt, but with Morrissey's voice and lyrics, the Smiths would have just beeen another 80s jangly indie guitar band. Yep, Morrissey turned the band from good into an All Time Great band. It Morrissey that makes the band timeless.

Yeah you're right, he totally didn't care abotu fame, why else would he want to be part of a band and release albums and singles and play TOTP.

And why do you keep bringing up Mozza's ego like it's a bad thing or like some sort of criticism? That's part of his character and Smiths fans embrace it and love him for it.

Just get the deluxe "The Sound of the Smiths." double disc boxset.
Although I've just checked the track listing and there are a right few corkers on there missing. Argggh, just download the songs from "places" if you can. Use spotify or youtube to get a taste of them.

I only started listening to The Smiths five months ago.  I already know I'll love this band for an eternity!
