My game doesn't get past the start up screen sense the latest patch.

I have tried many things none have worked yet im wondering if any body else knows how to fix it on hear. The main total war forums plus help form Sega hasn't suggested anything that helps.

I assume that you have already verified the game file's cache?

EDIT: I hope I got it right now

follow the guide, and to post here, cut and paste the text, use spoilers please.

    do you have any mods?

if so delete then, and delete the scripts folder. How to:

    press: windows key and R

    type: %appdata%

go to CA folder and delete the ntw folder

Your cpu and ram are minimum for Empire unless they changed the rules with the last patch.

    Try installing http://www.microsoft.com/net/Download.aspx,
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en, and
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...Downloads.aspx.

This is what Genuine Check said.

"This copy of Windows did not pass genuine validation."

The product key found on this computer was not assigned by Microsoft.

I installed the other to without a problem.

Also when ever I try to run the game I cant Ctrl Alt delete so I half to press the button on my tower to shut the CPU down.

You must be joking here. Were did you found that?
EDIT: Were Windows installed on your PC when you bought it? I think that some pc manufacturers use a kind od semi-official version of windows that MS may identify as not genuine.

Is your windows operating system pirated?

if your windows copy is original you have to open a ticket with MS, although by now it is highly unlikely since false negatives are not around for a while....

And you don't have to register XP. The windows.exe is enough to tell if it's the real thing by the time/date stamp and file size. Any pirated copy will change at least on of them.

No I know its not pirated. Because im not computer skilled enough to even know how to do that.

I dont understand why every total war game sense Rome worked fine until the latest Napoleon patch though. This makes no sense.

I have used a mod for Napoleon before. I reinstalled the game 5 or six times sense then though.Deleted the scripts folder and verified game cache on steam.

Yes my cpu had windows XP professional installed when I bought it.Its a custom built cpu

what does this mean?Arrrgg!! There were some false positives in the early of the genuine advantage, but by now? highly unlikely
