Start/Freeze Up Issues

Ok, so I am seriously considering throwing my computer into the middle of the highway. At least the Napoleon game anyways. My computer ain't the best but its decent enough to run Empire fine. So I got Napoleon and at 1st I didn't have any issues. Now napoleon is starting to freeze up and stop responding. And then it will start working for 2 or 3 times, then start freezing again. When the game messes up it doesn't even get out of the opening credits. Any ideas? Guesses?

Acer T-180
3800+ AMD Athlon 64 CPU
3 Gigs DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 6100 nForce405 video card
Windows Vista Home Prem

Mate even if Empire ran I would consider that a miracle with your graphics card. That's just one HUGE problem that I see. Your processor is also pretty old. : \

I would consider seriously upgrading your components. The game is made to run on high end parts and your graphics card can't handle it.
One thing you could do just to try is to upgrade your graphic drivers if you haven't already. Head on over to this link and select your graphics card and download latest drivers. Don't forget to uninstall the old ones before that though.

A new graphics card would help BUT:
1. How much room do you have inside the case? Measue twice, buy once.
2. What size is your power supply? Many are too small for today's cards.
3. Is your case ventilation good enough for the upgrade?

Even after that, your cpu will bottleneck it.
