I prefer a slower pace, with 10 minute turns. I don't always need that much time but hate rushing about trying to get everything done in 5 minutes. Especially, when there is diplomacy to accomplish. I know that the timer stops when you're actually conducting diplomacy, but with the way the game's counter-offer system works, it resumes everytime an offer is refused.
I would also prefer to have fight battles as the default, fight as AI, and follow AI movements all enabled. I know it takes a little longer to follow the AI, but with fighting as AI, it's important to know what positioning the armies and navies are attaining, prior to the battles.
I like Large or Ultra sized units, with the campaign/battles settings for the human players as H/N.
If you're looking for a competitive, long-term, reasonably-paced campaign game, then please send me a friend request on Steam. My user name there is iamjamiam. I live in California, USA, and can usually play 2-4 hours a night, during weekdays, and several hours a day on the weekends.
A post in this thread, by interested parties, would also be appreciated.
