cant start

Hey..

having upgraded my computer (new hardware) I formated my drive.. Now feeling like playing napoleon total war again, I installed this, but it will not start.. I can play other games just fine, but after starting napoleon, there pops a steam message up telling me it loads, but after that no more happens..

1: Have direct x 11 (which installed with the graphic driver)
2: all the latest (as far as I know, since I have just only reinstalled everything the other day)

Dx11 is not enough no matter what Microsoft's sales pitch tell you.
The first thing you need to do is reinstall your motherboard chipset drivers. The computer/motherboard make and model aren't even showing up in the dxdiag.
After that you will need

http://www.microsoft.com/net/Download.aspx, and possibly
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en.

hehe it wasnt any salespitch by anybody, it was just my logic that stated it was unnessary to install d 9 if I already had d 11 installed..
Hmm tryed installing a chipset driver from http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-029901.htm (picking the x58 xtreme, since that is my motherboard.. But it still donst show up in the dxdiag.. :S

Okai, am installing theese other things now.

You have tp restart your computer for the chipset drivers to take effect and show up.

However the systemproducent and systemmodel is still not showing in the dxddiag, could you perhaps also help me with this ?

If the dxdiag shows the BIOS number, don't worry about. In many custom builds, it won't as it's not entered by us.

hmm but it dosnt, right? It just says "defaul system bios"

The only thing I can think of is your motherboard manufacture built the BIOS update into chipset drivers. The way they make things proprietary now, I would not be surprised.

The main thing is I'm glad evrything is up to date, the computer works great, and you can play the game.
