shogun total war: weachatar.dll

I recently bought shogun total war gold and when I open the exe i get an error message saying that "weachatar.dll was not found, reinstalling this application may fix the problem." can someone please upload this file.

That .dll file is included with STW, try cleaning the disc and reinstalling, if it still occurs then the disc is probably damaged or defective - take it back to the shop where you bought it.

Another possible reason you have that error message is because you've downloaded the game from a torrent site. If so, try actually buying the retail version - it's available on sites like Amazon new and used for a few pounds/dollars.

I have cleaned and reinstalled, I still get an error message.

Now the error has changed now it's ?SysShout@Chat@@QAEKPBDHPAX@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library weachatr.dll

The disc is probably damaged or defective - take it back to the shop where you bought it for refund/exchange.

It's been passed 7 days so I can't get a refund or exchange it for a new copy

That's bad luck sorry. You may want to have a look on Amazon or Ebay for a cheap second hand one? All you need is the replacement discs.

I'm not sure where you bought it from or where you're based, but in future it's probably a good idea to install and test the game before the 7 days are up.
