Running EB with Alexander through Steam
I was wondering how I would accomplish this, and whether it would be worth the trouble and invalidating all my saves. Do I need to reinstall EB into the steamapps/common/Rome Total War Alexander folder, or can I just use the same command line I usually use?
I'm currently running EB through Rome Total War: Gold, not Barbarian Invasion or Alexander. I understand that the add ons have improved AI, nightbattles and the like, so is it worth it to make the transition?

Re: Running EB with Alexander through Steam
Just the transition to BI is worth it, Alexander is probably even better.
Don't know about the steam thing though, i suggest looking at the mod section, there's probably someone there with the same questions you have

Re: Running EB with Alexander through Steam
If you wish to have only one installation of EB to play only single player via the Alex engine, install EB into the Alexander folder (Steam installs Gold in one folder, Alex in a completely different folder). Then simply make a shortcut to Steam executable:
C:\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 4770 -show_err -nm -mod:eb -noalexander
Your 'start in' folder should just be C:\Steam or the equivalent. If you want to play windowed add the -ne parametre.

If you wish to participate in EB Online, a system that uses the original EB 1.2 over RTW engine, you'll need two installations. I recommend first installing into RTW folder (Gold) and make sure to uncheck the documentation, T-script, and Rec. Viewer during this installation. Manually switch the EB in RTW Gold folder to use the MP EDU to play on EB Online. Your shortcut will be the same as above except number will be 4760, NOT 4770. And remove the -noalexander parametre. Then install EB with Script, Docum. and R-Viewer into Alex folder so that you may play single player (won't need to switch EDU as default during installation is Single Player EDU).
