Green Lantern (2011)

Figured we might as well have a thread for this too. Ryan Reynolds playing test pilot turned intergalactic police officer Hal Jordan.

ryan reynolds seems to be getting into a lot of hero movies these days.

here's to hoping he isnt the sarcy comedian this time. It seems to be all he can do.

Would he really fit the Green Lanterns persona, I know he has Deadpool without trying but how about this?

Perfect character for deadpool (shame they ed it up) but im not sure for green lantern, he looks like him though.

He would have been better as Flash IMO, which he also wanted, but I think he can fit as Hal Jordan pretty well.

What Mango said, pretty much. He'd have done a perfect Wally West Flash. He can probably do Hal Jordan's Green Lantern well enough, though as well; I mean, he's an actor. Doesn't have to be shoehorned into "snarky guy" roles.

Really excited to see Angela Basset playing Amanda Waller. I don't think anyone else could do the role justice in live action.

Well its already obvious this movie will not be a big succes, the character is not well known enough. He would fall into the same category as the fantastic four and daredevil and will likely be viewed by about the same amount of people.

Those movies weren't any good. Iron Man probably wasn't super well known outside of comic fans before the movie, but the movie was awesome so it made a ton of money.

The success of this depends on the quality of the movie.

Green Lantern is one of DC's flagship heroes, along with Batman and Superman. And The Fantastic Four is Marvel's flagship team, being among their first major successes in the early 1960's. I have a very hard time believing Green Lantern is "not well known".

I think we can be fairly sure there will be a scene where he's not wearing a shirt.

Around here in Europe he is not well known as far as I know. DC comics barely seem to exist here anyways.

And he does look rather lame to be honest, just like Superman and the fantastic four.
