I just came back, some 2 hours ago from the theater seeing Predators. I first didn't know it was a sequel of Alien VS Predator. I toughed it where other hunters in the movie "Predators" But yesterday I became familiar that it was an sequel to the Alien VS Predator movies. A bit surprised, cool a new movie comes of them and I am about to see it next day and didn't know it was a sequel.
Anyway here is my review of the movie:
Predators
"The Hunt Begins"
Predators the newest movie in the well know movie(s) Alien Vs Predator, gives you just what you want of an other sequel. But you know already who the enemy is and looks like, so no surprise in that.
Characters
A former black-ops and now local mercenary, Royce is a hunter and hunts down humans for cash. He has done some bad things, but not that he cares anyway. He takes up the role of main character in the movie Predators and finds himself taken the main shots of the group of criminals.
In daily life this guy is someone you don't mess with, a drug-cartel member from California who does some bad stuff. He doesn't trust anyone and when it comes down to it he will shoot you no doubt.
Nikolai, a Russian type soldier, who was fighting a war that was about to end with a victory or defeat, we don't know. Either way he isn't really a criminal, he was fighting for his country, not a crime but still he killed people. This guy is very curious and temted to touch something.
The only girl of the group, but still a hard person to deal with, and someone who doesn't let herself get messed with. Isabelle was in the Israel army, doing what she did best killing people with her sniper rifle. She knows more then she shows, and is very cautious. This girl with a sniper is probably not to be overestimated not even by the Predators.
American's top wanted criminal was to be executed in 2 days for killing and rape. But he finds himself lucky to be waking up, not anymore in prison. Is an aggressive guy who likes to think what he is going to do when he is back home. Wake up 5 AM, raping time! Thats his thinking way.
Mombassa serves as national guard in a dangerous country without mercy in Africa, he has done some pretty hard things. Done some tactics, to get his target which will also be done to him on the location he gets dropped. He is someone who follows what is going on, and most of the time doesn't say much but does try to beat his new mate, the USA Criminal guy who was about to get executed.
Someone who doesn't say much, a quite person, but that makes him even more dangerous. Likes the samurai sword, is a maffia type of guy who is also a criminal and in some dangerous clan in Asia. He senses the surroundings around him and is never losing attention of the terrain around him. Somemone who has killed many without a swallow.
And as last, a Dr. joins the group. But wtf is a Dr doing between criminals ? Edwin is a professional at being someone he isn't is, you'll see what I mean if you see the movie. He knows much about plans, poison, and tries to come over as a Innocent nice guy, in which he succeeds.

All together this guys are all bloody killers, who on earth would form a deadly team but on the location now, form pray ... Who of them will last and who will die ?
Review
The movie starts of with a guy falling down from the sky, when he is falling like 4000 meter in some seconds he wakes up, don't know what was going on. He can't activate his parachute and it is just some 30 seconds before he hits the ground and get crushed. But just a few seconds before he successful opens his parachute and falls still with some speeds though the leaves of the trees of a jungle. From just a painful fall he stands up, and looks around to see he is deep somewhere in a jungle.
Royce has just time to stand up and look around when an other guy falls fast on the ground, who also manged to open his parachute in time. When standing up he immediately points his 2 guns at Royce ready to shoot him. Cuchillo drug-cartel member and Royce get distracted when a corpse falls in between them who apparently didn't' have time to open his parachute. Both don't even have time to finish there looking at each other or someone opens fire at them with a machine gun. Both find cover, and Rocey flanks the shooter and walks to him to stop him from firing.
Some time latter all 8 are now the group of criminals, mercenaries you name it, and Rocey without asking anyone else what to do, goes to find the higher ground to see where exactly they are. There discussing if they are in the Amazon or some other jungle. But the girl of the group already finds out that can't be possible because its to wet for this time of the year.
Soon they all find out there on a other planet and not alone. It doesn't take long or when they're walking to find unexpected company, a pack of wild, terrifying creatures run to them, circle around them. Everyone just starts shooting at the same spot where the creatures are moving. Then alot of them go right into the fire and some die but they get close so close, our Dr and USA Criminal start running to the opposite place of the fire fight. The USA criminal has just a little knife as you can see:
Some of the wild creatures, get passed the fire of bullets and follow the Dr. and criminal. The Dr. guy looks again like helpless person who can't defend himself, and the USA Criminal prepares for some close combat.
Isabelle turns and aims at the creature running behind the Dr to kill him, right before the creature can bite a piece out of the Dr, she shoots the creature right though it and it falls down. The USA Criminal is less lucky and has to work his way though the throat of an wild animal with his little knife, cursing at it while he is stabbing it. After some time a whistle sounds and the remaining creatures run to the direction of the sound. There gone for now.
After the fight they find out this where just the dogs of the enemy they haven't come up against. "There testing us to see how we response." So Royce says. But indeed the real Predators are all times looking and observing there pray. All check there ammo has much has been wasted on the first attack. They need to save the ammo they still have got. Anyway during the fire fight, there was so much chaos. They find out after there missing someone, as they are now with just 7. A load cry sounds: "Help me." and it repeats again over time. And by big surprise they see ...
If things didn't already turn out to be great, it even gets worse. Royce knows that running is no option and killing them is the only way. They follow the trace of the dogs back to a barbaric camp full of dead meat, skulls and all other guts. They are shocked to find something alive, something that should not be there ...
Final Words
I just gave away not much of the movie was is going to happen there is yet a secret character to appear and some to die and some yet to live and survive. 3 of them against 8 of us. A challenge, something a hunter like a predators likes. As he isn't just hunting pray, he is hunting humans who are also predators on there own world-earth. The world there on is a hunting ground where predators can hunt on those brought to the planet and hunt them down one by one. And they never use the same tactic, they always change all there gear, armor each time they come to the plant for a hunt on humans.
The good:
Alot of action, survival, drama, horror, and not boring at any time. You won't fall a sleep. And other stuff.
The Bad:
The enemy you already know, and they sometimes get fooled to easy by there pray. Other then that there is no real story in the movie and some things like Aliens using Human Parachute to drop there pray doesn't make sense. It isn't scary as I expected it to be.

It isn't a sequel to AvP, it's sequel to the original Predators movies. And you go see movies without even having the slightest idea what they're about?
