I was wondering if anyone had any books they think should be made into movies.

I just recently finished three books by Brent Weeks called:

    The Way of the Shadows

    Shadows Edge

    Beyond the Shadows

These books are part of the Night Angel trilogy, and i have to say its the best trilogy i have ever read. Well the books are quite long so i guess they should be made into 3 sepreate movies. but alas most books made into movies just aren't like the books. Thats the only problem i have with making these books into movies.

Absolutely none. I'm sick of seeing good books dumbed down for idiots.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
On second thought I would like the Yellow Pages turned into a -120 hour one continuous shot- movie by Alexander Sokurov and screened to a crowd of movie execs tied to their chairs. Twice.

That's not fair Garb, you always have to give somebody a chance.

You need a movie for the abbreviations used in that book alone.

Also I don't think it is unfilmable in 2010, maybe when the first one was made (which was a travesty).

I mean for crying out loud they are making Science Fiction genius Isaac Asimov's the Foundation series into a movie (though I'd prefer it if Roland Emmerich didn't come within a hundred miles of Brave New World).

I'd also say Huxley's Island would make for a good movie, it is a better book and certainly would be easier to film just maybe harder to capture the feel of that book.

A ton until you remember it's similar to game--->movie adaptations. With a bit more success but most of them are in the past.

    "Baudolino" by Umberto Eco.

I think Umberto Eco is a terrible writer and so is Baudolino written: terrible - but as a film it could be very good. Just like "The Name of the Rose" was. I´m not a fan of the idea to make a average film of a fantastic book, but the other way round, it could work.

This book maybe childish but it's pretty good. I emphasize 'pretty good' because I'm a teen and like I said it's childish so I didn't appreciate it except the children. It's called The Warhorse or just Warhorse. I think Spielberg wants to make movie version out of it.

    Steven Pressfield's "Tides of War,"

A pretty good book that would make an awesome movie.
