    Default My recruiting dilemma

The addition of the individual legions seems to me to be in effect a two-edged sword. On one hand, it's awesome because...well, because it is lol However on the other hand I find that it's a logistical nightmare in the respect that each of them are only trainable at one location. When I inevitably find myself doing the "Mak-Attack" shuffle with you-know-who, my front line is compromised severely by the fact that Macedonia's large and well-equipped armies pack quite a punch; basically I see a rotation of my legions which seems no big deal, however the sheer multitude of armies my good friend Mak is able to field means that advancing into enemy territory is extremely slow, and sometimes even impossible.

Can anybody give me any strategies to combat this (perhaps self-inflicted) deficiency? Of course I am aware of the stragey involving just making a replica of the legion that follows or is close by and is able to augment losses occurred in battle, but honestly, this seems tedious and IMO not very realistic. What do you all do in order to get around this? Any advice at all related to this topic would be very appreciated.

That's where you go, what is the government thinking? I mean wha, what do Congressmans' children eat -- MITES?!? All 400 dollars does is remind me how screwed I am; You'd be better off if you're Congressman just came to your door, and pissed on your foot."

Is it maybe possible to add to the game a script (or something) that automatically adds men to units over time, as if they were slowly being replenished by volunteers and conscription organized by local commanders, rather than the faction leader?

You have to take the Macs out early, they're a real @#$%^ later on.

i find that creating multiple legions as supply to go along .
say you create a full stack of archers/legios cavalry. with no leader to commandbecause as house rule says an army without leader has to be inactive. so you will fight with one army only.
that way your force is more concentrated..

rather than fighting with multiple stacks that way you cant create a good command general.

I compose my frontline legions of eight cohorts and keep three in replenishment reserve, coupled with a multi legion assault I never had any legions having to go back for retraining before the intended push was over, other than a few who got mauled when I wasn't paying attention.
After a while the auxilia end up being a ragtag collection of mercenaries and locally recruited auxilia, but that seems quite realistic to me.
"The only question that remained was whether the founders knew the final result of their creation, or if they themselves where the victims of a misunderstanding.
In the latter case it was the duty of any thinking human, to press himself into the front of this depraved movement, to perhaps still prevent the extreme, in the former case the founders of this peoples disease must have been true devils; for only in the brain of a monster - not of a human - could the plan for an organisation take meaningfull form, whose purpose must lead toward the end result of a collapse of human culture and thus to the desolation of the world.
In this case only battle remained as a means of final delivery, battle with any weapons that the human mind, intellect and will are able to comprehend, regardless, of whom fate would gift with it's blessing."

My only suggestion is to have reserves in the nearest city to where you're attacking. Make a mirror image of your field army just 1/3 the size so that you can reinforce easily. If you start running out of reinforcements just recruit more and send them to the city so you have a constant supply line.
Don't run, you'll only die tired.

well, the method I am about to implement will involve just using a mirror legion to reinforce my field legions. Sounds tedious to me, but I guess it adds to the logistical authenticity to the game.

In the new game I started, I attacked Macedon early, before they even got up to dacia. Every other campaign I've played before that has the Maks as rich, powerful, and unstoppable by the time I get to them.

LOL I'm tired of dealing with them in such a long, drawn out war that stretches my military to the brink!
