in the export_descr_unit.txt, where you find all the unit stats, there is a line named 'Soldier' which, for example, have the following stats:

    type Levy Spearmen
    dictionary Levy_Spearmen ; Levy Spearmen, u
    category infantry
    class spearmen
    voice_type Light
    banner faction main_spear
    banner holy crusade
    soldier Levy_Spearmen, 60, 0, 1
    attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, can_withdraw, free_upkeep_unit

the red marker shows the number of soldiers in the unit for the default battle size... as to my knowledge, the maximum number you can have here is 80 (and in the huge battle scale that will be 200)...

if you want 120 men you change it to 48, if you want 150 men you change it to 60... the multiplier is 2,5 for huge battles I think, and I think you can change the number to any number you like, as long as the

    [number of soldiers] x 2,5 = [a non-decimal number]

therefore, if you write 51 as the number of soldiers, the game would crash because 51 x 2,5 = 127,5 and you can't have half a man on the field...

EDIT: just found out that Kingdoms have heightened the maximum number of soldiers to 250 [100 in the EDU]... so no, you can't have 300 but well enough 250...

you will need to unpack the game

go to your tools\unpacker folder and run the batch (BAT) file 'unpack_all'
don't forget to read the ReadMe file and delete the two files mentioned in there

Most you can have is 254 if you get technical.

    100 men in EDU x 2.5 on huge = 250 men
    3 officers
    1 general

    = 254 men

descr_walls.txt has tower weapon reload delays that relate to unit size. If you are raising all unit sizes then you might want to reduce the delays. Or you unbalance the units versus the defenses situation.

Oh and your battle AI is probably more likely to crash during siege assaults with 250 size units.

I've got a follow-up question on the subject. How do I implement the 100 soldier limit in a community made mod? Or is it only possible to have the 100 soldier limit in the mods you get with Kingdoms? I have all Kingdoms mods installed, but the 60 soldier limit still applies to the EDUs in the original game and mods made for it, for example Darthmod 1.4. Exactly where in the Kingdoms files is the limit set?

    Thanks.

Kingdoms' limit is hardcoded at 100.

Maybe I didn't explain it clearly enough, but what I want to do is somhow use the higher 100 soldier limit from Kingdoms in all my mods, not just the ones from Kingdoms itself. I can edit the EDUs for the Kingdoms mods to 100 no problem, but if I try to do that with any of my other mods, like Darthmod for instance, the game won't start. So how can I make the game treat my other mods, and maybe even the main game, in the same way as the campaign mods in Kingdoms?

Does that mean that the 100 limit only works for the Kingdoms' mods? So even with Kingdoms installed, I can't get any separate, community-built mods to use it?

    Thanks.

It means that if your mod uses the kingdoms.exe then your limit is 100.
