    Default "Death to Zarqawi"

"Death to Zarqawi" and "Burn in Hell Al-Queda" are a few of the public chants heard over and over and over again throughout the day in Aman, Jordon.

Angry at the murder of scores of innocent Jordanian civilians, mobs of protestors took to the street to declare their contempt with the Al Queda head in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

We haven't really seen much of this yet in the middle-east, in large part due to the fear of retaliation factor that terrorists thrive off.

This could be the bigging of a momentum shift in the area.

One can only wait and see.....and hope.

I agree. All he does is kill civilians...murdering innocent men, women, and children by the hundreds.

just because guys like stalin and pol pot sit behind a oak desk and signs papers all day dosent make them any less of a terrorist. i guess you could say theirs' is just a more "organized" type of terror.

as bad as this situation is, its nice to see that the US isnt getting blamed for once. this could be an excellent oppurtunity for the US to start grabbing some support from middle east countries since both sides seem to have a common enemy. but i guess we'll have to see who the people hate more, zarquwi or bush.

Yeh, all those filthy commies sure were nasty guys. Not like all those lovely western leaders we have, who have never done anything to harm the world, especially not kill any civilians. When will you people get off criticising "terrorists". Now i am not saying that these are good people and should be emulated in any way, they are doing a terrible thing, but often they are doing it at least for a half decent reason. They are not all just muslim fanatics who "hate us because we love freedom", they are just the ones the media shows us. I would say the greatest terrorist organisation the world has seen would probably have to be the former Soviet Union, but closely behind that, the USA or possibly China (going by number of civilians killed by terrorist activity). Why is it terrorism when some muslims kill people but not when four million people are killed in South-East Asia during the Vietnam war, with many of those casualties inflicted by those oh so holy defenders of all that is good and just, the USA? The "war on terror" is probably the greatest example of hypocrisy we have in the world today.

Could be a very good sign. Could be a very bad sign.

A people infused with wrath, whether it be holy wrath or murderous wrath, will always cuase mahem. I doubt a mob can contain all its anger and focus it onto only one target.

That said, it could be a very good sign that people are turning away from terrorism. (I use the term loosely, I despise people who call anyone who doesn't conform a terrorist... It is as bad as the "commie" hating era.)

What!?! Who said you have to conform? All we are asking is that you stop murdering people and flying planes into buildings.

If that's what you mean by conforming, errmm... wow.

Don't you people read anything other than CNN?

    Sheesh

I suppose you are going to tell us that terrorists are just freedom fighters, huh?

What? What 'momentum shift'? People expressing their anger and grief at a terrorist atrocity? We've seen plenty of that - all too often.

Or do you think that 'the Middle East' is a monolithic whole and people cursing terrorist killers is, somehow, new? Do you honestly think this represents some new phenomenon with 'Muslims' in 'the Middle East' suddenly turning against Al Qeda?

What's really new here is that it's a deadly example of Iraqi terrorists, having taken advantage of the massive Jihadist training ground the US Government has kindly provided, successfully exporting terror to their neighbours.

Until this, today in Aman, Jordon, I hadn't seen any protest in the middleeast (outside Isreal) of the bombings in Isreal (that's in the middle east right?) I haven't seen any protests of significance in Saudi Arabia. I haven't seen any in Jordon until yesterday. I haven't seen any in Iran. None in Syria. I haven't seen any anywhere in the middle east that come out and say NO TO AL QUADA!

So what exactly was your point? Oh yea, to try and spin this into "nothing happened, don't get happy" and America still sucks and is the real true evil in the world.

But I will differ this to the expert, ThiudareiksGunthigg. You're doing such a stand up job of it by yourself.

    Well put, Attalus.

But, you must remember. Stalin, Pol Pot and those guys have alot in common with terrorists.

    They're all murderers.

So I guess we should understand why the left is so fast to defend the Radical Islamic Terrorists.

And I don't think CNN is soley to blame, you're forgetting the Cool-Aid.

On the contrary, these news are a clear sign that, for Muslims, killing Muslims deserves hate and resistance, killing infidels, not.

Ahhh, right. America, the great evil nation. Always going out and trying to help an ally in need. Always trying to use it's OWN national media to root out corruption and such within it's own Govt. Unlike Soveit Union, Communist Korea, Communist Vietnam, Communist Cambodia, Communist China where they can hide the truth from you and spoonfeed you BS that some suckers (we like to call them socialists here) actually fall for. Just because it didn't quite work out with Communism (failed miserable I would say) doesn't mean you have to keep lashing out at the United States.

    So, keep dreaming.

Oh, and here, enjoy a nice cold glass of Cool-Aid on me.

Do you think Jordan will join the coalition after this?

This proves the hypocracy of Al-Zarqawi in that he says he's there to help muslims fight infidels, but goes around killing muslims, including Sunnis.
“The nation that will insist upon drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to find its fighting done by fools and its thinking by cowards.”

I wouldn't hold my breath, but then again, their King has sworn to hunt them down where ever they are....if that's Iraq, I guess they might want to let us know when they are going to strike.

So, now that I think about it, ...that's an interesting question.

But I instinct says, "Don't hold your breath"

Why would they tell you? It's not like US agencies like to respect territory or laws of their "allies". (example being the Italy incident)

Anyway, to the topic. All this Jordan response tells us is that people hate those who hurt them regardless of religion, idealism or nationality of the party causing that pain.

If that was israeli who blew up the bomb they would scream death to jews. If it was american they would scream death to USA. If anything this proves futility of trying to use violence to change system of any nation because in using violence you end up hurting huge amount of people and, for reasons given above, will cause them to hate both you and what you are trying to represent.
