Has anyone of you use gentlemen to ignite unrest in enemy regions? Or rather let them stay and research? Actually I found letting them stay home they will increase the happiness of your regions, so building a college doesn't hurt as much as in Empire because they will spawn gents which can wash your people's brains.
But in my French campaign when I finished research all of my techs, I take all of gents to the east, dueling and incite unrest everywhhere. I massed about 15 gents in Moscow, and the next turn Russia becomes a republic.

:O Gentlemen incite revolt in enemy cities!?!?! i never knew that haha. In my Austrian campaign i have like 4 more gents then i need :p they have just been running around dueling all who even look at them the wrong way, but now that i know this they are gunna book it straight to Paris hahaha. By 1809 I already have about 8 gents in Orleans, 6 gents in Liege, and two gents in the Netherlands.

They incite republican ideas in all nations, the only country this benefits is France really. This is why you have to increase your garrisons of college provences to keep the peace

Yeah, I just found that out last night when I was reading the manual. I thought it was a good idea, since you can max out your tech and have useless gentlemen for a while in ETW.

Actually the Coalitions can use this against other factions, though the fact that the French cannot change its government (which is a crap feature
