    Default FOE Macedon Campaign

    Just what the title says. Gives Macedon a decent sized army near Ambrakia. The first few conquests are unstable, crashing, but the autosave saves the conquest so nothing is lost. Just make a backup of and replace the campaign, and export_descr_unit. The Macedonian army has no upkeep by default, and none has been added as their starting soldiers are irreplaceable. Don't waste them as they are a useful force at the start when your economy is weak. The export_descr_unit file is vital otherwise your generals will not have their own unit, making the game crash when they are attacked.

    Or you can wait until RTRVII when you'll be able to have a full blown Macedonian campaign over the Greek Heartlands with a whole load of spanky new units.

    Believe me guys, it will be worth waiting for. I've never played a TW game with so much depth and with such a gameplay! I'm sure that you'll like it too once we release it!

    Good to see someone modding FoE

    Might I suggest you give the Macedonian forces upkeep?


    Also, you might want to have a look at the export_descr_buildings.txt (EDB) file as there are many things that this faction doesn't have there but others do. Take a look at the buildings called "Settlement_id" (index #56). Every region has such a building and there are some systems working in the background there to help with financial balance and public order balance. Don't get scared off too easily by the many lines of code, there's a logic behind them. So if you understand the first large section of code for the roman faction, you'll understand the rest of it too.

    I don't really see the point in giving the Macedonian troops upkeep costs right now, as they're irreplaceable, although I might add them to the Macedonian royal barracks later.

    @JPHILP!
    A good idea to add the Macedonians...but you should have a bigger map..otherwise you don't have a macedonian heartland with some important cities. Without 'complete' Greece it doesn't make sense.

    I agree to Maurits: RTRVII is the best RTW mod so far and it's worth to wait for!

    Default Better Macedon Campaign

    For those who are impatient and want a slice of the Macedon pie before RTR VII.
    Same as my previous campaign but now....

    The Macedonian troops have an upkeep cost. These are based upon, and slightly lower than Epeirote upkeeps because the Macedonian troops are slightly weaker.

    Macedon can train it's own troops, rather than rely on auxilliaries

    Macedon starts with 40,000 denarii as funds for it's expedition to the west (those troops aren't paid cheaply )

    Backup the files and replace. No need to replace the campaign folder if you downloaded my previous one. DO replace the export_descr_units.txt.

    This campaigns a bit unstable, occasionally crashing when taking a settlement. I find that exterminations work well and that attacking does too. Obtaining the settlement through surrendering has been a problem however, and the show_err thing isn't giving any clues.

    Also is there going to be 2 Roman factions and a Seubi faction? I changed the custom battle availabilities and those were there

    Sure you've done a good job, but it wouldn't be bad if you post some unit-pics and infos here, so that we know what you've done..

    JPHILIP - from my understanding, the 2 Roman factions available for custom battles are there so that the player can have Rome vs Rome battles. As for the Seubi, well you'll have to wait and see

    Nope, neither of the two are in (atm). As CA says, the other Roman faction was probably a remnant of the old RTR6 coding, where there were two for custom battles.

    It's actualy been done intentionally (no RTR 6 remnant). But since we didn't have the time to balance and debug the second Roman faction we made it unplayable
