Loss of colours...

Hi All!

After the latest patch I loaded an old French campaign and saw that all my French troops had lost all colour on their uniforms!

Everything works fine, and everybody else looks normal, but all French inf., cav., art., and generals have all white (no colour) uniforms.

Some link has been broken with the patch, and I really don't want to start all over (around turn 40 - a lot of time invested). Before I start modding myself, is there a quick fix for this?

Im sure many have reported it fixed with the latest patch.. but traded instead for a "zombie bug" of some sorts..

But there is no mod or community fix that I know of that fixes this.

Well its not fixiable by principle because its caused by the colour mask files not loading. The only fix i know of is to go to options and change the anti alaising settings forcing the game to reload the textures.

I beleive the zombie bug is caused by the diffuse not loading but im not so sure.

It can also go the other way around.
I was in a battle with my French, when I changed the Shadows from Ultra to High. When I resumed the battle, all the colours from the French was gone

I have only seen this bug with the French blue colour, and only in campaigns that was started pre-patch.
Another bug with pre-patch campaigns is that you can build another tax-office in your regions, although you already have a higher level of admin. building there.

But I have a Russian campaign around turn 60 and a French around turn 45, so I really want to finish them.

Ok, I give up my French campaign, although I was on the verge of invading Russia in the spring of 1807 after having crushed Prussia and Austria.

It´s no fun with uniforms without colour, I especially think vain Murat will refuse to show himself for the Russians in offwhite

Now I will try if this bug also appears in a new French campaign (I think yes ).

Just started a new French campaign and yes, the bug is still there
Strangely enough, in the Italian Campaign there is no problems with the French colours, but they also has different (early) French textures.

Last possibility is a driver problem (not likely). I´m using 257.21 but I will try the 258.96 (beta) to see if it makes any difference.

Or until CA comes up with a hotfix, people are forced to not play the French

As I wrote, it is only the French that lose the blue colour, all other factions look fine.

in your game, on the other we have chocolate armies, and all that, and the white for you is restricted to the french.

might as well try to revert to what it was, reinstall the game and give it a try.

you could also try to verify the cache, this is a less painful procedure

You saw the link I posted and you see you have a lot of company. You also see there is no real fix.
