Survey: What provincial campaign that you look forward to in XC5?
As now official releases of Extended Culture 4 is on the sight, so I have start looking forward for future plan of XC5.
As we already put most of systems into being (only new system in XC5 would be ET4 trait system) so we likely to look forward for more cosmetic things, historical features, and gameplay. New Campaigns, both Era based and Minor Factions-Specific based, would be one of many feature that we will do in XC5 but as many ideas have fly around our team. So I decide to post some of idea that currently fly around to survey players opinions on many campaigns those may or may not include in our future plans or priority of our work on campaigns for XC5.
Note:
- List below not included Provincial Campaign that we already have.
- This is just idea that fly around, nothing here that is finalized yet.

Up in Northern Barbarian territory, civil war now rage across the land of Gauls between the Aeduii and the Arvernii in contest over legacy of old Cubi-Bituirge Confederacy and supremacy over Celtic world.
Player's proper choices could play as Carthage in Struggle for their servival and rebuild themselves for facing with those Roman Crooked Republic once again. Or play as three powers in the East, Bactria, Parthia, and Maurya, in new powerplay of the East. Or play with weaken Seleucid that had just lost a lot of Territory in Syria to Ptolemaic and prepared for their own recovery as well as face two conflicts on both side of their Empire. Or play the Arvernii Gauls in their fight for supremacy in Celtic civil war and united Celtic peoples once more. Or play as Rome, Iberia and Massalia in order to exploit current situation for ascending to be great power.
Note:
- This campaign EK will use only India rosters of Maurya only at the the highest point of her power under Ashoka's rules.

But now situation become catalysmic, at near end of Second Punic War, Roman will sooner or later rules supreme over western Mediterranean and start to stare on the east. While in the further east, Parthia start to claimed their right as heir of the old Achaemenid and destroy frigle balances of Eastern Mediterranean. No any diadochi that could faced romans threat alone, could they give up their own hatre to fight the greater threat or could they find victor among them before all being swallowed? ...But in Western Mediterrean, the crippled Carthage still has a wild card in their hand, Romans supremacy maybe not as secured as they expected... who will decide?
Note:
- Carthage starting position is in the middle of losing war against Rome in Iberia and Hannibal's army is stuck in stagnating situation in Italy but not yet in hopeless situation.
- Egypt and Seleucid start at war against each others, but it is only just begun.
150 BC - Violent Moon Rises In the East, Heroic Warcries Echos In the West (604 AVC) --> The Yuezhi Invasion, Viriathus

The echo of "Mare Nostrum" is proven threat for 2 Romans old and weaken enemies, the fall of Macedonia and destruction of Carthage are imminent. While deep in Lusitania. a bastard act cause a hero to rise the banner in fighting to protect their homeland against those the worst savage with no heart for compassion, Roman...
...While Rise of Roman is at critical point, the wind in the east turn to violent storm. In 155 BC, the coalition of Wusun and Xiong Nu drive the Tocharian out of the northern land of Wusun and start flux into Transoxiana. Their flux invasion for new land destroy balance of power in the East as alien tactics and strange bow from the land east of Tianshan prove to be outmatched any weapons and tactics of anyone west of it. So the struggle for survival in Central Asia of all civilized peoples has just begun...
...At the same time, somewhere in the north, the long dorment forces have just begun their move and shaken Europe in its wake to marked decay of the old system.
Recommend choices for player in this campaign are play as Parthia, Bactria, and Sarmatia to Stop the alien Tocharian horsemen from succumbed their known world. While in Europe could bring Viriathus and his fellows heroes to liberated Iberia from Foreigner. Or just play as germans and prepared their wake no matter Roman or Gauls will on their way to stop them or not. Or play as Gauls to stop their nightbours day dream. Or may even play as Carthage and Macedon in attempt to turn last stand into reawaken of their former glory. Player may also play as other powers of wanning Diadochi War in attempt to restore their former glory as well as fight for survival against Roman juggernaut.
Note:
- Tocharian units now on post-production. Tocharian units are horsearcher that armed with Assymmetry Composite Bow. Which in hand in hand of the skilled warriors would outranged any of horsearcher in the west and yet still accurated. European will facing this bow again with Hunnic Invasion.
- This Campaign EK will start with large army and a lot of settlement that well established in Central Asia. Proven to be huge threat for Bactria, Parthia and Scythia, So Prepared for Bloody and continuous Cavalry fight.
- Viriathus will start with very high hitpoint(10+) and full gold chevron of his bodyguard with some veteran unts that accompany them as well as some traits that allowed morale bonus for his fellow generals. And if Spain play by AI, Viriathus will get trait "Homeric Heroes" with even more bonus in morales of fellow general and even made him far harder to kill in battle.
113 BC - Marian War (641 AVC) --> Jugurtha and Cimbrian War, Marian Reform
Description:
While Tocharian Invasion in the east left scars to the eastern world by the dead of 2 Parthian shahs who fight against them and destruction of Greco-Bactrian Kingdom which power replaced by Tocharian clans like Kushan before driven out of Central Asia by Mithridates II of Parthia, situation in the west became greater trobles for Romans. While Romans still not yet to fully pacified Ibreia, new threats have arised from two completely different fronts, one was Romans's old allies and others are horde of peoples that romans not yet facing before...
On the southern border, Internal political struggle within Numidia bring roman to involve in war with Jugurtha, the adopted son of former king of Numidia who shine in talent as well as unfathomable ambition. He once fought for Roman in Celtiberian War before and he known roman very well...maybe too well. He knows all weakness of Romans system both in politic and Polybian army system. So all things that romans send to stop him in North Africa are in grave danger....
...On the northen border, romans facing with a huge wave of migration of people of the northern land beyond Northern Sea. Romans never met them before but decided to called them with the name those celts called their foreign neighbours "Germans". Although they were the most primative yet organized enemies that roman ever facing, they never expect these new peoples cause the protractd and bloody war they ever facing since Hannibal, and will become their, more than just matched, nemesis for next several centuries to comes...
...And this time of trouble, a new man of senate has become the hero of situation and his most important legacy is military reform that change landscape of roman and world politic forever. His name is Gaius Marius.
Recommend choices for this campaign are Numidia in bringing Jugurtha to defeat Rome both by diplomatic and military means, or lead Germanic peoples in their migration into fertile land of the south and crush anything those dare to resist your destiny. You could also playing other faction as well especially Parthia which had a lot of eager expansion and development in this eras.
Note:
- Due to ethic degration of Romans, all romans generals will get 25% penalty on cost to bribes
- This campaign roman will start with huge but outdated army and well developed settlements but almost no barrack as well as imperial palace but already at the eve of Marian reform. This is to emulated manpower shortage they face in this war.
- Roman also gain bonus traits to their generals after reform as well below...
+2 Command
-1 Loyaly
+15% Movement rate
10% discount on training cost.
-70% cost to bribe on most of starting generals
- Numida when play by AI, Jugurtha will gain bonus traits to support their traits which already support his diplomacy tactic here...
+2 Command
+2 Command against romans
+4 negotiation skill to all diplomat
+100 bribery chance for diplomat
- Germans will get different starting units up to play by player or not. If play by player, it will start with a huge horde of old low level units, but if by AI then their units will be further developed but in the same numbers. this campaign germans will start with small and underdeveloped settlements as well as huge upkeep that put red number to treasury but haved huge well developed roster after reformed in well developed cities. So player must used low level units to created kingdom and slowly created more powerful units from civilized city you captured to replaced what you have lost and continue your momentum after you facing more powerful Romans' reformed legions.
91 BC - Mithridates's Ambition (663 AVC) --> Sulla, Roman Civil War and Mithridatic War, and Buribesta's unification of Dacia.
Description:
After Marian reform, military power of Rome shift from Senate to general that command them. Although this made their army even more powerful, roman old political structure are slowly to crumble. As soon that the general realized how powerful they are, more desired for political power by unlawful way coming. the starting of Social War in Italy is beginning of the end of roman republic as now power come to hand of those who support by plubeian more and more, but this is not the only threat that roman will face in this crossroad to dead end...
The ambitious Mithridates VI of Pontus watch situation in Rome closely and think this is the right time for declared himself as protector of hellenic world and liberated as well as united peoples of Eastern Mediterranean in war against Rome. Mithridates is the great strategist so his plan is far from impossible. And due to his strategic mind, he unlike what romans ever facing before...
...While roman so busy with their own civil war and Mithridates, New force to reckon with arised in Carpartia and may change the tide of history to come.
Player could have many choice in the era of ambition here. As roman, you would play as Sulla and his loyal army in fight against outside enemies leaded by Mithridates as well as fight in Civil war for his own power over Rome. Or you would play as Pontus and use all strategic mind driven out Roman from hellenic world with strategy and all underhand in his stock. Other main player in this campaign is Dacia-Thrace under new rising king Burebista who will exploited the time when roman busy with Mithridates and their own civil war to emerged as great power of Europe which even roman also reckon with. All other player also have good time here as Roman's hard times is the time of exploitation.

Re: Survey: What provincial campaign that you look forward to in XC5.
I would really like to see Minor Faction Campaigns, especially the Eastern/African kingdoms ones. And also maybe the 218BC, 202BC, 150BC, 113BC and 91 BC campaigns.
But why Rome wouldn't not be a playable faction in 202BC, 150BC and 113BC campaigns ?

In 202 BC, 150 BC, 113 BC, Roman was too powerful too have challenge for most of players as they control about 1/3 of Mediaterranean. But I could made them playable as well if people demand to.

Re: Survey: What provincial campaign that you look forward to in XC5?
I've never played this, but I play XGM, and if you do a 150BC campaign it could be rather interesting. 204BC sounds awesome as well.
Game of the Fates Mod of the week on hold -- I've played nearly every RTW mod out there.
BOYCOTT THE USE OF SMILEYS! (Okay, just once) Antiochos VII...last true scion of the Seleucid dynasty...rest in peace, son of Hellas.
I've returned--please forgive my long absence.

This is better than XGM. Seriously, I love XGM, but this is so much more realistic and challenging. Once the kinks have been ironed out it'll rival RTR, RS, ect.
Re: Survey: What provincial campaign that you look forward to in XC5?
It should be really great if this four would be implemented:
240 BC - New Flags fly Over the East (514 AVC) --> Rise of Parthia, Bactria and Carthage's Truceless War 204 BC - Twilight of the Diadochi (550 AVC) --> Second Macedonian War 113 BC - Marian War (641 AVC) --> Jugurtha and Cimbrian War, Marian Reform 91 BC - Mithridates's Ambition (663 AVC) --> Sulla, Roman Civil War and Mithridatic War, and Buribesta's unification of Dacia.
Re: Survey: What provincial campaign that you look forward to in XC5?
We plan that our XC4 will finalized in this September or October once we could put all unit cards and info card in place.
On all those splandid campaign, as I said in first post, it will gradually released in beta phase of XC5 and kept update until full version is released.
There also some system that I need to considered or created as it will effect on how those campaign work before created those campaign, such as....
1) I will revolutionized trait system in XC5. I will not leak anything more than what I had already leaked about them but you could expected "shock and awe" from my new feature that I will kept as mystery until first alpha of XC5.
2) I still need to know reception on how Carthaginian senate civilwar work.
3) Fate of roman rebel and how it will function in future version, should I kept them as it is, or how could I adopted system that I had already done to Carthaginian senate.
4) Many new units are needed for mini-campaign of AK/EK/Celtic. We short of artist to work on them though.
Although still have many point to do, and how I will working on those campaigns work already outline though.
