Crashes while interacting with SPQR

Someone help me, i have such an annoying problem.

Im playing as Julii, and i am now quite far in the game (the marius reforms have happened and i am also seiging rome). I dont know what the year is - i dont think it has any relevence.

I have two stacks sieging Rome. I attack, win, and as it gets to the point of asking wether i want to capture, enslave or exterminate the population, the game crashes to desktop.

I have tried and tried again and dont really want to reinstall due to how far i have got in the game. I dont know what patch i have - dont really know where to find out.

I have noticed that this problem doesnt occur while attacking the other roman families, just SPQR.

Help please? This problem is really doing my nut in.

What version of the game? Are you patched to 1.5?

I dont know - how do you find out? i have a nagging feeling its 1.5 but i dont know

Start the game and look in the top right corner of the options menu.

I am updated to 1.5 and i have this problem as well, when attacking any SPQR army the game crashes and reverts to desktop, is there any way of fixing this?

Does this happen in a vanilla campaign?

Is the OP using the SPQR mod or are they playing vanilla R:TW (unmodded)?

I got the impression that they are playing vanilla R:TW and when they attack the senate faction (SPQR) the game CTDs.

It's been so long since I've actually played vanilla R:TW that I'd struggle to know of any.......

The small number of settlements and map was one of the main reasons why I started to play R:TW - and don't start me on the R:TW faction colours. I found that R:TW BI was even worse as the Sassinads (bright blue).....
