Default Automatic governor option - does it work properly?

    Hello,

Many times in my campaigns, i just stop because micromanaging all cities becomes very tedious.

I was wondering if anyone is using the automatic governor (local governement? cant remember exact name) and if it's actually building something.

Usually when i come to the point i want to use this option, money is not a problem so the governor shouldnt be limited by that.

ANy insight would be appreciated, thanks.

I never use the option so I can't help you.
It probably works ok but not as good as you doing it yourself.

Well, When you get into Very late game when you have not enough governors then I end up auto managing the worthless settlements. From experience, it tends to spam a lot of Cav for me But it does build some useful building etc. Much easier to manage yourself tbh.

Just use your Lists Scroll and Sort your settlements by Public Order level. That's a quick and easy way to determine where to cut or raise taxes, and where additional troops may be needed.

the auto manage will build buildings and train troops appropriatly enough. The only problem is, it thinks that town is on the front, and even in minor settlements in the corner of the map that couldnt get any less relevent it will build things like blacksmiths, and higher tier barracks.

so if micromanaging is a game breaker it will work fine, although it will waste a bit of money.

Yes, I agree. And also trains unnecessary units. Like when you forget about a minor settlement in a corner of your map and check it back later, it's possible to see like craploads of basic peltasts or peasants and such. Even when you have enough soldiers inside to secure it.
