    Default Request for Decent Mods

    Hi guys,

Hope this is the right place.
As the topic says, I know i can see all the mods and maybe i should try each to see what i like. But i really dont have time.

So there MUST be some sort of concensus out there as to the best of what is avaliable
    For instance

    1. Gameplay/BAI/CAI
    2. Sounds
    3. Textures

Now i HAVE used Toons All in one. And it was VERY good, Had all the stuff i liked but at the it contains too much in the way of units. Dont get me wrong i like the concept, if there was a way to prune id do that. And in regards to other BIG mods out there i really havent looked. Some seem quite confusing/Others dont really discribe exactly what they do.

So for the Vets out there, Could you point me in the right direction, in order to enjoy NTW again. With a couple of mods.

    Regards
    Mike

Order of war has all you describe......Its the only way to go if you want to stay in the napoleonic time period and don't like the all-in-one mod.(Like me )

I used this thread http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=367467 i assume that it is the latest, and all the other stuff you have to add in the post as well. Or there is another thread http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=357324 which is defunct... I dont know.

I havent tried NER yet thats the next one on the list

On that NOW topic i get weird white squares where the unit crds are and i get no music.. Thats in Custom battles.

Really, well we are trying to get the mod all fixed, there shouldn't be any white squares, all the unit cards are properly made and working for everyone else. The next Napoleon Order of War version will be released soon, at the moment, there is one minor CTD that keeps ruining it, and I'm having a very hard time fixing it, but I have just recently just striped the mod down and start fresh in a new pack file, so the next version should hopefully be 100% bug free, and this time I plan to do very heavy testing. So the next version for NOW looks very promising, and I am also including an optional music packs for different tastes in music; epic, soft, fife n drum , etc...

So if you would kindly wait a couple of weeks, then all will be well, since it is basically a one man team, things take much longer than other mods do.

Oh, and its probably crashing because your not using the hotfix.

    Cheers, MB

Try EiC. 75% of material is optional (tick-the-box) and we don't have any graphical/sound/CTD type bugs (i.e game killers)

I haven't tryed many mods as of late; I tend to find a mod I like and stick with it, unless they make changes that push it away from what I like. But from what sampeling I have done I can recomend TROM2 and the Tyrant Overhaul mods from the non-hosted mod page. Both are fairly simular, but talord to the tastes of the moders, and have an eye for realisum and stiff oposition from the AI. Both are realy well put together and pull from sucsesses in ETW moding.

In terms of the hosted mods I prefer EiC, the team is quick and they have good grasp on the history of the Napolionic history and an eye for gameplay consessions, i.e. they won't let reality get in the way of good game play and I mean that in the best possible way. NOW is good too, though the technical hangups have slightly impeaded game play and the masive array of units availible kind of make it hard to form an army without a history book to help identify what a particular unit did and might be useful for. That is just my opinion, apreantly a lot of people like that number of units in a mod.

    I love EiC.
I'd stopped playing N:TW after a week or so and then waited for the major mods to start popping up, then i tried a couple and found myself loving EiC... it feels really stable.
