Default AoC- the War for Hyboria

i honestly think that Age of Conan has a great plot and a storyline for a MTW2:kingdoms mod. there is so much that could be done here... the map is prolly the best thing. the lore is there too to help with units and setting. just an idea... i may try learning to mod just so i could do this. what do u think?

making provinces would be a bit tricky tho... youd have to be knee-deep in the lore to find names for it

There was some kind of R.E.H/Hyborian Age/Conan TW type thing in progress a while back on Mod Realms...

But this would be Epic, and a lot of extra info can be found in the Dark Horse graphic novels, although they aren't "pure" Howard.

at which point in Conan`s life do yo plan to start the campaign?
or in other words, do yo plan to have Conan appear?
and if so, would it be as a faction leader, a general, rebel or other aspect?

perhaps this site can provide you with some quick resources.

honestly the time period where Conan is king in Aquilonia would be good. its kinda a fresh start and theres plenty of ways and individual could go. the final faction list would be hard to decide though. it be hard to decide what kingdoms make the cut. and then theres the names for all the heirs and such. it would take wuite some time for all the reasearch and what not. but in the long run i think it be a fun and enjoyable game

Ok- I tried to find that in-progress mod I mentioned, and the Mod Realms site is down...but I remember it was for M2TW, and they had a lot of units done already-Stgyia, Zamora and such. Excellent models in their screen-shots.
I like the Dark Horse series because they specifically tried to fill in the gaps that R.E.H. left in Conan's life, and they draw on Howard's left-over notes for the stories. And NO- I don't work for Dark Horse, lmao- just a good extra source of Howard lore.

just looking at the map; a good place to put the border would be the river Styx and the Vilayet Sea, otherwise the map will be way too big
The Duke of Dunwich and surrounding fiefdom

For any who are interested by my FF on occurrences in Rhun and beyond; I have begun a new project (not because the old one is finished, just opening more room for ideas) about one of the minor characters, Rankal. It is in the Third Age AAR index and here is the link http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=376994

    Conan TW at the .org.

i might agree the map cropped at Vilayet sea, though i would have cropped it just west of Vendhya. this would allow the Hyrkanian settlements on the eastern shore of Vilayet, Hyrkania being the source of Turan`s ruling elite.
rather than cropping it at river Styx i would keep Stygia and perhaps even Kush - Punt.
i would have crop just north of the Eiglophian mountains. of the northernmost lands only Hyperborea had any particular impact and even that not really significant. in my opinion there is even no reason to include Cimmeria, apart from being the birthplace of Conan it did not play any important role.

I am still trying to track it down, Bro, they were pretty far along - I wish I could remember more.

I found these, though- don't think they are related, though.

Sadly, Conan Total War seems to have been abandoned !

Personally, I would have loved to see a MOD like that.

Taranaich was doing a great job with his Conan TW, but unfortunately it has been a long time since he gave any news... I suppose the mod is dead, as much as it hurts to admit it.
I really hope someone, someday will decide to recover Taranaich's project - which seemed to be pretty advanced - or even starting the mod from scratch.
MagUidir is right: this setting/theme is so very cool and should definitely be used for a MED TW mod!
