Display / User Interface issues...

Hello all,

Briefly, this is my issue. I bought NTW today (late to the party) and got everything up and running. When I load the battle map everything looks great, except for the fact that my user interface and map keep blinking constantly which, you can imagine, is a severe distraction. So I tinker with my settings (very high settings) and my resolution.

When I elect to sample a new resolution, the map reloads, and the problem is gone, whether I keep a new resolution or go back to the previous one. Problem solved? no. The next time I go into a battle, the problem persists. I change resolution, etc, problem solved again. This I could live with if I had to. The problem is I can't change my settings at the start of an online match which, again, is extremely annoying.

Is this a compatibility issue with my hardware? Is there a patch I missed to remedy this? I'm simply lost, as I'm oblivious to tech issues. In fact I'll post my hardware (which my friend built just a week ago) if that will help.

Somebody in another forum suggested I update my drivers but that didn't seem to help.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

and update your video drivers 10.6 are out and they are good

The only cures I've read are update your drivers (10.6 are out), lower your monitor resolution, and use Shader 2 instead of Shader 3.

Notice you can see the minimap, "start battle" window, and unit roster blinking incessantly. I simply change the resolution and the blinking goes away. This happens no matter what resolution I change it to. Nothing else seems to effect the blinking, at least from the hour of options tinkering I've done. So basically, the problem appears to go away for the duration of the battle. Then, the next time I load up a new battle, it reappears. Highly annoying, especially since I can't change video settings during online battles.

Anyhow, hope that at least gives you an idea of my problem. I'll go re-download the new drivers again to see if that helps.

Follow up:

dxdiag (DX11) reports no problems, and I updated drivers as advised. The problem still persists. Tinkered more with resolutions and settings but that has not worked either. Very frustrating I've had no problems with any other games I've played, including Rome:TW. Could it possibly be a mismatch of sorts with my particular graphics card? I know most developers don't test their games on every card on the market. Should have gone Nvidia.....meh.

are you running the Catalyst Control Center at the same time? If you are, try disabling it entirely. Your specs looks good, can't imagine its a compatibility problem.

I don't believe so. Again, I'm very tech ignorant, which may be why it took me years to save up the money for a new rig instead of investing more into my TV / XBOX.

At any rate, I've found an expedient way out of my problem with online matches. I can simply TAB out of my window before deployment starts and reload with none of the graphic issues described above. Sure, its a pain. But it will have to do for now. I'll try to get a more tech savvy friend to help me out, but any advice you can offer in the meantime is appreciated.
