Problem after latest patch (GeForce 9600 GT)

Before the recent updates, I used to enjoy Napoleon on ultra. never installed any big mods. Just tweaked a couple of stats by creating a mymod.pack and the joining script to run it.

Since the update I have not been able to play the game and it looks like the reason is because my drivers are not up to date. This is what the Sega employee told me over email after I requested assistance on their site.

After going through multiple time consuming total uninstalls Nd re-installs, as directed by the sega employee, the problem was still there.

Now here's where it gets complicated. My video card is a GeForce 9600 GT, after downloading the driver installer NVIDIA tell me they don't have any new drivers for my system.

So my question, is CA allowed to modify my game if the result is I cannot play it anymore? In American/Californian law?

Aren't they at least required to give me a solution or allow me to revert to playing without the recent update? Or at least let me choose if I want a harmful update downloaded.

My moms a paralegal, she offered to buy me a different game but after seeing how frivolous Sega/CA is toward its customers I definantly want to seek legal action. And I am, if possibli will keep everyone updated from this thread.

Can you afford a lawyer? If not, I'd say they're allowed. Your only hope will be that enough people had the same problem that they hand zero choice in whether to do something about it.

Yeah if it was a problem with using the 9600 GT, they would most likely fix the problem, because many people use that card....Oh wait nevermind I forgot it's CA we're talking about...

When you reinstalled the game, were you sure to completely remove any files you modified? The normal uninstall process will not remove these for you, and they are often the source of people's problems between patches. If you aren't sure what files were changed, I would suggest you delete the following folder (on Windows 7); C:/User/YourUserName/AppData/Roaming/The Creative Assembly/Napoleon, especially the script folder (you can save your replays and saved games). You may need to enable 'View Hidden Folders' in order to see the folder.

Oh, I would add that this is not worth hiring a lawyer over. I work in the legal field myself and I will tell you that you will spend thousands and the best you're probably going to get is the cost of the game refunded to you. Furthermore, if CA is able to show that the problem arose from your own actions (i.e. your modified files caused the game not to launch), you can expect to be hit by a counter-suit demanding payment of defendant's legal fees, which for a company like CA will be considerable.

This probably has to do with your small modding. Nothing is wrong from CA/SEGA most likely.

Also, verify your game cache to make sure all your files are accounted for.

Absolutely not, it still required me to preform some update before I could enjoy it. The purchase argeement disclosed that I need to adhere to some minimum system requirements, which I did. But this recent, compulsory update had no such disclosure and the problem it caused still has no solution.

So now you're saying it has nothing to do with your hardware? Would you pick your position please?

There´s people playing with that same hardware pal, so try to have a less simplistic view of the problem.

No update has made the game unplayable on your card. Unles your 9600 is different from all the 9600 out there.

Some screenshot of the error you recieve would be nice.
