Thank you too Lanpirot, your work is much appreciated too
Having a bit of trouble downloading for Rome: Total War Gold Edition on Steam. I downloaded the 1.6 installer and the temple fix and put it in the RTW folder, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to go in the main folder or in the Barbarian Invasion folder. Also not sure what the launch options are for Steam. Any help?
"I do not believe this darkness will endure."
Install the mod into main folder, not to "bi" or "data" or something else. Fix not needed if you install this mod at first time. All included in setup file.
Mod not working with steam-version of the game. But if it really needed... try this:
(In Steam Library find the game, and by right clicking choose "properties", go next into "set launch options" and write this (without quotes): "-mod:Bronze -nm -show_err".
Launch game from the steam by choosing "Launch Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion".)
Mate I suggest you make your own thread, with an OP where you explain all the stuff and leave the links, it will be much easier for you that way.
I second the motion to make another thread with the main post being the new links to the mod. However, I think LanPirot should do it, as an honor of sorts
Started playing the mod......looks good, but where are the historical battles??????
Started playing as Elam.....but it wont let me save the game!
Finally started a campaign. For some reason I can't save. Not sure why that is. Nevermind. Campaign script most likely, and me starting one campaign, quitting it and then starting another disabled saving. Quitting the game and re-starting for a new campaign and saving is fine.
Hmm, I checked mod files and don't find anything about historical battles... except for the mention in translated text files. (

Hi LanPirot,
Solved the historic battles problem. On the original Russian site, internetwars.ru, the team did an initial bronze age an initial beta in English of about 70 to 80 pdd megabytes. You can still download this from the site. This is the 3 historical battles. After you download the file into a folder, you'll get a 'bronzeagebetaen.ex' startup. Starting this up will automatically install this to you rtw and bronze folders. You'll get a bronze age en" shortcit on you desktop which you can delete. When you start up the bronze age startup and go into single player, then historical battles, the 3 battles are there ready to play.
You"ll need to incorporate this beta file into the next version of bronze age total war
Regards geon
Ps - still don't know what the save game issue is.....the 'load game' and 'save game' options are faded out and can't be used. They may work on an initial campaign, but all subsequent campaigns are faded and can't be used.....very annoying
Hi again, installing the battles deletes some of the terrains in the custom battle menu.....will have to look into that
Yikes, the beta has also wiped out most of the faction symbols in the customise battle screen. Will have to reinstall my bronze age total war mod and find a way to install the historic battles without affecting the terrain and factions

geon, i unpacked beta bronze from this site, hist. maps here: "bronze\data\world\maps\battle\custom". I moved they into mod folder and historical battles shown in the list.. but game crashed after running it. Config of this maps contain wrong names and units, after fixing... game still crashes.. I don't know why
Hi Lanpirot,
Strange, I downloaded this beta a year ago and got an exe file in my temp folder. When I click and download this, it goes straight to to my Rome Total War Bronze folder. When I go into the mod, and click historical battles the three battles are there ready to play. The troop cards are from the previous version, but everything works, except for the terrain and faction problems I have already mentioned
