Movies...Game Start and Campaigns

This question may have been asked...but I haven't seen it any where.

I love that when RSII loads it uses a movie/video...and again when you start a campaign you get a movie/video for that particular faction type. It gets you a little motivated to play.

I am assuming that this will stay in the final release...as it should, however all the videos show the original units from Vanilla RTW (original videos). Can these be changed to show the new units??? or is it way to much work??

Prior to me Beta testing, you had shown some teaser videos of various factions...perhaps this can be used instead of the original videos?

The videos have been made. Naxzull took care of that.
I think dvk will only include them with the installer, as it would probably be big downloads through svn.

And if the download takes to long...so be it...if you want all the goodies, people will have to take on the data.

I do not even have the movies, and personally, I think they should be a separate download. The installer is going to be very large as it is, so I would support an alternate download of them for those who desire them.

I tested one of these introductory video in campaign mode and I notice that the clip does not work well in the game ouveture
Indeed the ratio 16 / 9 could not fit on the screen format 4 / 3.

So I took the videos one by one and I corrected the problem while reducing the weight of the videos and screen resolution.
It will be less beautiful but still correct.
18 movies intro campaign + Rome title = 478 Mb

So I incorporated all the videos of the campaign mode + the intro of RSII and everything works (version RTW) !
Apparently, nobody has tested ... and I did not get back on potential problems concerning the functioning of video in the beta version of the game.

And on the main video introduction to Rome, I do not know if Elendil finished with ...?!

Could we have a 16/9 version for those of us that has that or doesn't the game work with it?

I think the best would be to add the main video with the mod, and the rest as an extra.

On first thought I would say include them. They will certainly provide a great bonus for every payer.

Looking at the question from another perspective, I recognize the problem concerning the size of the download. Can you give an estimate with and without the video's?

I say have another download for those who want the vids as it is a huge download even without thems. But I think they would add a bunch to the feel of starting a new campaign. We are going balls out anyway why short it out for a few extra hours of download time

Well I am glad I brought this subject up...I wouldn't mind either way as to how the videos are added. Waiting an extra hour to download is no biggie.

If file size is a concern, and the videos must be installed separately...I just hope/fear it won't be difficult to install. With that in mind...then someone will need to make an installation instruction...or...during the installer, if you check the box for videos...it will download and install for you...that would be optimal.

Here are several proposals on these videos :

Option 1: Integrate the final version of the mod clips (18 Campaign + 1 main) in low resolution for videos original format 4/3 (512x384) and totaling 250 MB

Option 2: Integrate only the main movie and Rome "Campaign" (screen resolution correct = 100MB) and the rest in a separate download.

Option 3: All the videos in a separate download.

OPtion 4: For those who want a download videos to 16/9 HD, which totals 650 MB

I would say #2 as well, but could I have that file so I can put it in the installer?
