i cant play the game

so i recently installed RTW on my new computer cause i was getting bored of ETW and MTWII and remembered this awesome mod. When i try to play the campaign i get a message that tells me to "choose an item from the list" or something like that and when i exit the game i get a message box that says theres an error with the start date in the descr_strat file. i tried reinstalling the game multiple times and even adding the patch. The computer runs Windows 7, could that have anything to do with the game not working. If it helps, it does the same thing when i try to run RTR

I'm afraid I don't know. I'm still using XP, but I will check with the others and get back to you.

try redownloading it. that works out most of rio's ibfd's problems

i suck with computers so i didnt know how to do a screen shot but this is what the message says:

Script error in:
ibfd/data/world/campaign/barbarian_invasion/descr_strat.txt at line 28, column 1
expected start date of campaign or battle

oh i also tried redownloading plenty of times

Do you have a vanilla version of RTW and BI as all IB mods require this. It sounds like that you are running RTR with IB which may well interfere with it.

you need to download and overwrite the desc_strat at the bottom of the soundmod revoultion post

You said that you're having problems with RTR too. I know this may sound obvious but are you sure you have your Barbarian Invasion expansion patched up to 1.6? I've seen this kind of problems when it is not. But if it is, did you allow for the mod installation process to be completed? I mean, during the installation a black DOS window pops up which you must allow to run completely, otherwise the installation will not be alright.

my BI should be patched to 1.6 cause i have the gold edition but i could be wrong. i used to be able to play it on my old computer which was first XP then Vista
