    Default Persians in northern Italy.

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but if the city on the top right of Italy rebels (i think it's Mediolanum) it's city gets filled with persian archers and eastern infantry. It just happened in my Roman campaign and I coudn't stop laughing.

It never rebelled again so i don't know if it was a fluke or not, but it's pretty bizarre how a roman and gaulish culture got filled to the top with such units.

Also, i noticed that other than singlers, the AI refuses to use it's ranged troops. Cretan, gaul or german archers simply stand there like morons looking at you and then just charge against your troops. Velites and other skirmisher troops aswell as slingers or mounted archers function perfectly, but foot archers simply stand there most of the time.

Thing is, this bug only occurs in my Roman campaign, in my Pahlava the AS uses their archers normally :S

Not as bad but a rebel spawn in Latium spawns ployibian romans.

I think it happens in the city that is the rebel capital at that moment. That city can get all types of troops

A full stack of rebel elephants spawning in the middle of Germania.

    UPDATE:

Remember how Persian archers and eastern spearmen appeared on the north of Italy?

Well, i just lost Syracuse and guess who appeared? A FULL STACK OF EASTERN SPEARMEN AND PERSIAN ARCHES ;D

Also, they have an extra unit in their army.

    A Samnite heavy infantry unit!

I'm starting to think that half of my empire is comprised of troublesome persians.

This is caused by the game engine. The capital city of the slave faction (it does have one) can recruit or spawn any unit that the slave faction has access to. Odd but true. Also the slave faction will keep moving the capital all over the place as it constantly tries to find the best place to effect the public order levels across all its provinces.

    Hey Foot.

Now that you mentioned the fact that the rebels have a capital that keeps moving around, when a rebel town has really low public order, what happens then? Does the town rebel (verb)? Does it invisibly rebel to the rebel nation or can it also rebel to a faction? Just a curiosity I've never really thought about until I read your post.
