    Default Instant Reinforcements

How come the computer, even with a full stack, instantly gets any reinforcements, while I have to wait? I understand the computer gets lots of help to make it challenging in general, but this is just ridiculously unbalanced and punishing. I can't fight two stacks at once, no matter how good I am, and it's lame to loss and army to no fault of my own. In older versions of BC I would get a message at the beginning of a battle saying my computer can't handle sending in reinforcements (until obviously some units die).

    What say you BC team?

    Simple.You just unlucky!

Ex:You and your enemy have a full stack and both side have another full stack as reinforcement.Your computer can only handle 3 full stack at one and the enemy reinforcement randomly enter the battle first. Then your own reinforcement can not enter the battle. In that situation you can withdraw some unit or kill and lost enough men to get reinforcement. If everything go bad just retreat

    Easy.

Let CPU control your reinforcement then you'll have instant reinforcements. But then you have to worry about CPU throwing away the lives of the reinforcements, as CPU tend not to make good decisions.

Yeah, for some reason allied AI is even worse than enemy AI for me...
And isn't there a line in the preferences file that says something like "unlimited men on the battlefield"? Does that have something to do with this?

Yes, it does. Change the line "unlimited men on the battlefield = False" to "unlimited men on the battlefield = True" and you and the AI will get ALL your reinforcements as soon as the battle starts. But be warned the game will no longer limit the number of men on the field and if you have a crappy system it will likely seize up and crash or freeze.

oh so if I just put it to false they'll have to wait. Sounds good.

Setting it to false sets the limit for both you and the AI and any additional armies that come in will be limited. Armies are allowed into combat via the roll of a imaginary die for the lack of a better term. Whoever gets the lucky role gets in.

    Just so you know.

You know guys I don't know if what you say is true, because if which side gets reinforcements is random and my computer can only handle a limited number of stacks, then sometimes I should be getting reinforcements first. And regardless of the specs of my computer or if I have the CPU control my guys, isn't a basic mechanic of the game, as detailed in the instruction booklet, that a side only gets reinforcements when one of their units routes or is destroyed? It was meant to keep the game balanced, just like how the number of units in an army is limited to 20, so you can't make a mega-army and blaze a path through everything unrealistically.

Anyone know for usre how it's at least supposed to work on a computer that wouldn't limit stacks, or how I can change things to be fair?

    Well.This is my suggestion

1.Then you have to look more "Strategy" than look into a single battle.I mean you may found some how to force your enemy fought man-to-man.Divide his force, attack various point (siege many city at the same time),fought "double battle" by extended use of HA and archer.Shoot all your arrow then retreat to lure him attack you and you have arrow to fire again (make sure your retreated army have enough men to fight)

2.Otherwise you will be a very good general and your men fought like a lions when you command your army and defeat all of their army!

3.The worse choice. You'll become a true Strategist/Chairman:Just bring the huge army with many full stack and fight with auto-resolve (I often run out of troop and bankrupt) !

4.The even worse choice!Decrease unit scale and you may have your reinforcement (nooo i will never do that)

    - lol fighting man to man is often impossible. It has nothing to do with strategy it doesn't take long for an army to march halfway across the map to you. You have to blitz the first army and hope you win before the next comes.

-I will never auto respolve and have the computer screw me over lol. Auto-respolve works really badly if you ask me.

    - and my unit scale is never at max cus I have the worst graphics card known to man lol.
