    Icon4 GEOMOD characters help?

    Hi! I want to change the faction leaders and generals name with geomod for exampel.ı change "Nur Eddin" to "Osman Gazi" than ı validate it and save than.when ı launch the game it freeze the screen and than lock the pc.I think that si caused by an script error but ı use the geomode and it does everything automaticly

    I'm not sure but try pressing only validate and exit geomod without saving then in the descr_strat.txt see if the changes have taken place or not. If so then launch the game to check everything is OK or not.

    it cant be validate problem Ishan also the game not encounter with an error but it is really interesting

    No I'm not saying that the problem is in the validating but saving when the loading bar pops up and it seem to mess the mapping files somehow!.

    sorry ı didnt understand what you mean but is it possible to change the faction leader name to an another name which is in names.txt ant ect.files.

    OK scratch that all you want to do is change the faction leader's name right?
    So go open the descr_strat.txt of your mod and and under the entry of faction Turks look for the Turkish character(basically the 1st character in line) having a trait faction leader change it's name from Nur Eddin to Osman Gazi and save changes and you are done.

    Thanks ı did and it works fine
    1-ı didnt understand why it didnt work with geomod(if it would it would be very easy to edit the charachters in the game)
    2-how could ı change the"sultan osman" to " Osman gazi" on the campaigne map above the faction leader when ı click the info card of the characther.

    You can't Sultan is the title given to every Islamic faction.
    In the text folder there is a file called expanded.txt. It denotes the title to every Muslim faction like for egypt the entry in it is
    {EMT_EGYPT_FACTION_LEADER_NAME}Sultan %S
    Where %S corresponds to the name of the character(just the name not it's surname).

    BTW you should talk to gigantus he seem to know a lot about Geomod.
    He would definitely nail the problem related to Geomod.

    I haven't finished the chapter on characters in my manual yet. There is an easy way to change a character's name with Geomod, but one has to remember that you can only use existing names of the faction the character belongs to.
    Other changes will have to be made by hand, like adding new names or changing faction particulars like the leader's title (thanks Ishan).

    I expect to have that chapter finished and published after the weekend.

    That would be lovely Gigantus.But ı couldnt understand how could be error with geomod.I use the existing names for a characther and still have problem with geomod.By teh way when ı change the primary color of an faction it is okey but when ı leave empty the city the flag of the city turns to old one.For example ı changed the turks to red but when ı empty yhe city than it turns green on city flag what is the reason?

    Again my friend it's not related to Geomod. When you change the primary or secondary colors you can easily change the colors of the banners as well but whenever empty a city the colors of the banners is default coz of the reason that is a .cas model and it has a default texture.
    You need to open that file specifically and change the colors according to ur desire via photo shop or gimp.
    Like for example for Turks the banner u are talking about would be stored in this location.
    data\models_strat\textures
    And the name of the file would be #banner_symbol_turks.tga.dds.
    Hope this will fill out your queries my friend.
