    Default How do i mod in more IC

    I want to start a Austrian Campaign but they have really awful IC so i wanted to bulk them up however i dont get which number i need to change to do it i read this http://www.paradoxian.org/hoi2wiki/i...g_province.csv
    and it says the 15th one i changed it and that didnt work so i was wondering if anyone could tell me which number i needed to change in this

    Code:
    463;PROV463;Austria;Austria;Europe;Temperate;Hills;;;100;;0;0;0;11;8;2;30;21;10;16079;2850;16024;2886;16079;2863;16079;2863;0;16074;2893;16154;2873;;;;;;;;;;;;;16056;2860;-1;-1
    If it isnt to much bother could someone tell me how exactly your supposed to do the national provinces bit as i was reading the guide and couldnt find a modding bit which said how to do that.

    You may (as I have done) consider modding the HoI2 files a little to give Austria more options later in the game. One thing you can do is to make Austria the "true owner" of Hungary, which means you will inherit all Hungarian units when you annex Hungary. It is also not a bad idea to make all provinces of the defunct Austro-Hungarian Empire "national" provinces. You should add at least two tech teams - a naval academy and a naval arsenal. I made them to appear in 1937, as by this time you will have access to water again.

    I did this exact thing with a France game: I made France on par with Germany and took the UK out of the Allies, I was going to be playing the UK.

    So I made this:

    france_cheat = {
    global_manpower_modifier = 1.0
    global_leadership_modifier = 1.0
    global_ic =1.3
    }
    In Common/event_modifiers.

    Then all you do is edit your savegame, find the French country entry, then find the modifiers section, and add france_cheat in as a modifier. As you can see, this modifier adds to France a 100% MP and Leadership modifier and a 130% IC boost.

    I found this to be far, far easier than adding in more IC points to a bunch of provinces.

    This is, however, a HoI3 solution. I'm sure it can be easily adapted for HoI2 though?

    IIRC, in HOI 2 when you hit F12 and type (event 1006) you get a permanent +6 to IC. You could simply do that as many times as you like until you IC is where you want it to be. Also, you could go into the event files and easily edit that event or create your own if you'd like a different number.

    Oh ok i will give that a try then thanks.

    Poach just wondering with Hoi 3 do you have any supply problems when fighting in remote regions say if you invaded Argentina it would keep supplying you from say London as i bought Hoi 3 but that happened to me a bit which made me go back to hoi 2.

    Ha, seems my reply was deleted in the server crash.

    Giga: Yes, HoI3 had that problem. In SF it was meant to be fixed but got bugged, and in the upcoming patch it should be fixed.

    The problem was in HoI3 the game would try to supply all your units from 1 port. The next SF patch will allow you to use every available port, which will mean your armies won't be constantly fighting over a very small amount of supplies.

    The wiki is correct in that the 15th value inside Province.csv is the IC value of a given province (if you're working on it via Excel or a similar program, the 15th column is even captioned as "IC" in the topmost field). If you change that number for any given province, you change the number of factories present in it.

    However, you have to remember that every point of IC requires ressources: 2 energy, 1 metal and 1/2 a unit of rare materials. Without the ressources, you won't see the IC, as they will be temporarily shut down due to ressource shortage. As soon as you have more ressources available/in store, the IC will go operational as well.

    Something else to consider are factors that influence your current IC (difficulty level, techs, infrastructure, dissent, partisans...) that might take away some of your IC. And if you're playing with a mod, you should check whether or not the mod uses its own variant of Province.csv If that's the case, any changes made in the original file will not carry over into the mod and you have to change the mod's file instead.

    keep in mind you might need to change resource rates to make use of the ic.
