OK. so i read this guide http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=201292. And saw a post afterwards which said (One dil to rule them all). So i decided to get into a Custom battle using Getae against a Roman lefion. 2 Legion cav; 2 cohors militia; 2 archer; 1 generals(late);3 auxilia skirmisher; Legio Trianis Fortis(10 cohorts). I had 4 heavy spearmen 4 archer 1 gen; 3 sarmesblabla cavalry and the REST were dil warriors. And I was surprised to see their effectiveness. Now all respect to the balancing efforts of the team; but shouldnt a VERRY late roman legion beat a unit that costs only 200 gold??????. My question is ; What makes them so ridiculously powerful and how do I balance them; ( I know the EDU file and how to mod it; but a name in the EDU would be helpful) . THanks

Go into exp_unit_desc and type in the name of the dacian unit in the search, reduce their missile and or melee numbers, go to the rome moding part of the site for further help. There is detailed information for all types of modding.

The unit prices aren't the same in custom battles as in campaign game. Also, the Dii warriors have armour piercing weapons and a little bit bigger unit size which makes them stronger.

We never put any effort into the custom battle/multiplayer part. It's known to be really imbalanced.

Remember you were playing against the AI.
Try it against a real player, and you'll weep. The Romans are WAY overpowered.

I was playing with a friend, I the Iberians and him Rome.
I managed to outsmart him; badly. With one unit of cavalry, I draw his 3 cavalry units and two cohorts away, resulting in a 19 against 15 fights.
I sent my line of infantry to pin down his own, and then backstabed him with a combined force of infantry/cav and slingers which amounted of 5 units.
I was rather happy, since he was outnumbered, and I had a sizable force which could strike at his back.

That's where everything went wrong. Since he had one more unit in the line than me, he sent it to stop the flanking force. By the time I managed to kill three-fourth of the unit, which was still fighting happily, I had the 14 units running toward me. The cohorts had managed to butchered my infantry line in almost no time, and with minimal losses. The rest is best left untold.

No. We encourage people to mod and improve our work with mini mods. Heck we even got a subforum for that.

Dacians were most powerful neibhours of late roman empire,dii wariars should be even stronger because they wear full greek arrmor which should provide at last defence 13,I made a changed unit description in original RTW style.
