ctds ctds ctds
im using the full download torrent version and i have a couple of questions.
1. do i have to install medieval 2 total war and kingdoms in the path C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War
or can i put it anywhere when using the full download?
2. has anyone been able to play the mod without CTD's that stops the campaign?

Re: ctds ctds ctds
ctds will be fixed for the most part in the next version. you can install kingdoms and m2tw anywhere, as long as when you install call of warhammer you put where where you installed your game.

Re: ctds ctds ctds
yesyes in the teutonic folder, that much works, but the crashes are a tad irritating, especially when you just cant get past them. the whole campaign just comes to a stop...
and when will the next version be out?

Re: ctds ctds ctds
If you truly want a CTD free campaign, check out my Real Warhammer mod in the "sub-mods" section. The sandbox campaign is supossedly CTD free, but most of the scripts that make this mod unique aren't there (since most of those caused crashes). I reccommend you give it a try.

Re: ctds ctds ctds
It basically makes the mod more balanced. Let me give you an example. In the "vanilla" CoW, when you are the Empire and you are fighting the Orks or Chaos Factions, you usually have a slim chance of winning, especially if they have mostly elite units such as Black Orcs or Bloodletters. Using the real combat system (developed by Point Blank), you will have a much greater chance to win, but not to the point where you'll automatically win. It still requires some effort, but you'll have a greater chance to win. Also, elite units are fewer in number, but they can still pose a threat. You'll no longer see 150 Vampires in one unit, but instead, around 25. That doesn't mean they aren't any less dangerous though, as they still pose quite a threat. It also gives them more of a unique feel and a feeling that the few in that unit have a lot of training. Seeing 25 Vampires take down 175 Imperial Troops is quite a sight to see

Re: ctds ctds ctds
The only problem I am facing with CTDs are the Sieges, whenever a siege happens it just crashes the game everytime.

Check the "Having Trouble with Siege Battles?" thread. I posted a reply there.
