Default Is there things in our universe that is "Beyond our Comprehension"?

Separating from religious views, where some things there can be "Beyond human comprehension", is there anything in the universe that is "beyond our comprehension"? If I am right, nature goes in a cycle, and if we observe these phenomenons, we can explain how things happen, and if not, eventually with greater technology. But some things are beyond our comprehension. If you think about it.

The birth of the universe (Big Bang Theory) can be a bit hard to understand, but right now some sophisticated things are quite beyond our comprehension isn't it, if i am not wrong?

The current theories that try to explain the shape of our Universe I think fall into that category.
Human thought and personality can also fall into that.

    Cool story bro.

Of course there are unanswered questions. There's always something we wont know

One day, so long as mankind doesn't destroy itself, there's no doubt in my mind we'll have answers for questions we can't even fathom today and I'm also sure the more we discover the more we'll find even grander questions and mechanics of the universe that we don't understand; and at that time I bet we'll be saying the same thing, that it's "beyond our comprehension".. until it isn't.

Most things are currently beyond our comprehension.

Are there things that we will never understand? I hope not, but I don't know.

If you're saying thing beyond our comprehension as human beings the best answer is we don't know. Everything that has ever been considered uncomprehendable has eventually been conquered by the dispassionate collection of knowledge that is science. We do seem to start to hit the limits with science when causality starts to get confused in the quantum universe however we've figured ways around those limits they're just... complex?

    you do know that there are certain circumstances when 6 + 6 = 10, and 0.9 + 0.9 = 1.

can you comprehend why that may be? No. But we know that it is.

If some thing is beyond the abilities of our cognitive functions as a species, then said thing does not exist. I do not comprehend how 0.9 + 0.9 = 1, but someone does. If someone did not, this example would not have been posted.

Recognition of a thing and comprehension of it, while semantically different, are part of the same, unified, cognitive ability.

they can't comprehend it. They know that it is true, but they cannot visualize why.

The edge or sides of the universe that dont exist are beyong my comprehension apparently if you travel in a straight line you'll eventually end up where you started :S

So you don't accept the idea of a world that exist independently of our own existence?

I doubt that men can comprehend how it`s like to not exist.

I doubt that there is anything that is beyond our mathematical comprehension. It might be difficult to comprehend using just our human intuitions (e.g. an electron can move from one spot to another without passing through the space inbetween), but that is what math is for, and as long as we can understand the underlying mathematics, we can understand the universe.

I think nothing is beyond our comprehension we just don't understand certain things yet because they probably can't be explained... yet.

Like bacon said, the big bang theory is one of those things. In time though I think most things will be understood. Cavemen also couldn't explain fire at first and thus it was beyond their comprehension - for some time.

Your actual remark would conflict with the requirements of post #1. Post #9 looks to be the strongest outlook on #1. Not sure I am about the validity of "the same", "unified" and "cognitive ability". It may depend on what these mean.

Ahh, bit if you´d travel in an actual straight line you would not follow the Earth´s curvature and you would have to be Magneto or someone of the sorts to keep on walking.

What I find interesting in this thread is that some associate with "beyond" (theoretical comprehension) physics and others epistemology.
