A problem with unrest.
While i've got good experience on playing RTW, i'm fairly new to XC (i think it's the gamma version im using at the mo) and looking to see if theres any advice about unrest on newly conquered provinces.
Starting my first campaign with the Ptolomies, i took the usual strat from the get go. I've secured lower egypt and got my defenses set up at damascus and sidon for the only real threat early on. So off i went to consolidate upper egypt and secure my south with a full stack army.
But the sheer unrest levels in these nubian cities are a nightmare. Meroe was doable, Axum was likely more lucky than anything else, but Avalites in punt barely seems conquerable.
After kicking the sabeans out, im left with a city that has less than 1K population, yet 80% unrest! A level 6 influenced general and a garrison over 2K puts public order to around 20%? Theres little to no unrest in most other cities, and no bad traits from faction leader affecting the faction, nor the general of the army.
making sure i made use of save games, i've tryed everything i can think of. Theres no spies inside the city; my two spies inside when i seige and/or occupy. I can take the pop down to the limit by recruiting, but still doesn't affect unrest nor p/o.
Everytime i take the place, i cant stay in long enough to build anything; being kicked out and finding a whole garrison of silver and gold chevroned defenders. Demolishing the "eastern" cultured buildings doesnt seem to affect the culture penalty, and the next turn those 400-500 citizens throw out a 2K garrison with ease.
Looking in the Desc_rebel_factions.txt. iv'e tryed lowering the chance values from the ethiopians (originally set at 15, down to 6 and then 3), but still get 80% unrest everytime i take the city over. I'm not sure whether this affects campigns already started or not, but i've tryed everything i can think of.
any advice from anyone?

Re: A problem with unrest.
Try the new test builds, they have a new building tree that deals with unrest pretty nicely.
