Please check out my art ( If that is what you want to call it ) on y Deviantart page. I am just starting and this is all I got so far. Hoping to expand on my abstract skills and open new dimensions on my page.

I quite like Orange Wednesday and Carbon Duality actually.
Im more of a classical guy, so I think the portrait of Damien Rice? is pretty good and I suggest you do some more of those.
Good luck mate.
Can you do landscapes?
To quote alan moore: "Artists use lies to tell the truth. Yes, I created a lie. But because you believed it, you found something true about yourself."
Oscar Wilde: "Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative"
I intend to go as abstract as possible and move away from portraits. I am not a fan of intellectual art.
Top marks.
But for the realist stuff it's best to not teach yourself by working from photographs. (yes it is that obvious they're from photos) It's generally advised to start off with the mirror with a few quick self portraits, followed by some blind contour drawing http://drawsketch.about.com/cs/drawi...ntourblind.htm (the most illuminating drawing exercise of self discovery)
Abstract art is built on realistic methodologies.Expand your repitoire so as to avoid being forced into consistencey by inability.
Also the most important thing: don't hope people will like your work, it only matters what you think. As Carravaggio said: "No hope, No fear."
Big fan of Wicker Hill, really impressive

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.
