Is it like Medieval 2 and kingdoms? Does npoleon just add more features to empire total war?

I bought empire total war when it first came out but it seemed broken and missing a lot of stuff, so i went back to medieval 2 and kingdoms.

Now that napoleon is out I'm wondering if its worth getting if it will fix empire total war?

What are the main differences between Empire and Napoleon total war? Pros and cons of each? thanks

Well, Empire is far more vast and has a larger campaign etc. But napoleon has greatly improved graphics and a far larger variety of units, i wouldnt, in my opinion, just count it as an add-on, Old chum, it is worth getting.

Getting Napoleon doesn't affect Empire, no fixes made in Napoleon transfer over to Empire

Napoleon, a 19th century game, has the handsome powdered wigs Empire, an 18th century game, should have had, but tragically lacked. Hmmmm...

pros: better ai, several mini campaigns, stable multiplay, better mpc, more agent options, more diplomacy options, attrition in regions, naval invasions, more options when conquering, player can create/free factions, more tactical depth on the battlefield, better graphics/immersion.

cons: smaller scope (the european map has the same size as in empire), less factions, weak Dragoons (my fav unit from in ETW).

I miss warpigs cataphracts and elephants..

Pros: better AI, more focus on Europe, more multiplayer options, the ability to liberate nations, more units, weeks instead of months, Napoléon Bonaparte, and less crashes.

Cons: tiny Finland Norway and Sweden, no french grand campaign, all the annoying pop ups you get about things like Lewis and Clark seriously who cares?, having to declare war on Sweden and the Ottoman Empire after 3 turns of gameplay just to get control over the black sea and the baltic.

Well i dunno then. Because i loved Rome and medieval 2, for their grand campaigns, but i hated Alexander and kingdoms because the small mini campaigns with small maps.

But what i did like is that features and units from kingdoms, and alexander, carried over to the vanilla games to make them more fun.

But if napoleon is just a stand alone game, and much shorter campaigns, it just doesnt seem to be as epic to me as a grand campaign of say medieval 2or empire.

I played one time through empire, and knew it was buggy, and was hoping they would of fixed it by now.
    Ahh well, thanks anyways fellows.

If you're interested in the Naploeonic Wars, its a great game. If you're interested in Civilization style gameplay with the TW engine, you'd be disappointed.

well im interested in a long epic campaign, like in Rome and medieval2. But with Empire's time period. But like said before, Empire is broken and I thought maybe napoleon was Empire but fixed.
