Back on topic: I think artillery in general is pretty usefull. When any units try to flank just unleash the canister shot.

I'm sure that Old Guard is best infantry at end of the battle when you are almost lost. Line infantry is middle of battle the best. All artillery units are best when enemy advancing, if you know how to use artillery. I have many times used canister shot, when enemy is advancing and what happens? entire unit is crushed.

I would argue the Old Guard. I don't personally play as France but I've seen one unit of Old Guard manage to break one unit of my British foot, go on to break another unit of foot and then break my 88th. Wtf is going on here...

Cazadores, but only if they are from Portugal. So much firepower, pretty good morale, not too expensive. Supported by some above average line, with a reserve of that thing Portugal calls cavalry, they are really do a number on most units.

I agree that one should not be rude towards Senex Civis as he isn't actually being offensive. But his prose style, IMHO, is awkward, pompous and affected - and there are a couple of other posters to TWC who adopt the same style, unfortunately. I find him tiresome to read. By contrast, I have no problem with putting in a bit of effort to understand someone for whom English is not their first language. As long as I get the sense that they're doing their best, and not deliberately obscuring whatever point they wish to make, then I completely respect and welcome their effort.

My suggestion is to do what I do: just skip his postings.

An artilery unit from the Great War mod is probably the most powerful TW unit I know of. Second to that guy who made that Nuke thing...

But in Vanilla, I would say Old Guard, there is nothing like a Old Guard Vs. Your standard line Inf.

Yes, if you had more than 6 posts here, the same as the other guy... You would know Dufferism is a tradition here on TWC.

It might be common where you come from to not speak like that on the internet. Here is different.. It should also be a common practice to learn a little about the place your posting in before spouting out **** like this the same as that other nobody offending the Senex chap.
