Hi, I have tried using Rocket Troops, but it seems to be much different from ETW though.

It doesn't do much as it did in ETW is it?
I mean the closer the troop are , the more damage it create, but it doesn't seems to do so in NTW

    or is it?

ps. grammatical error ; "what are the uses"

Yeah i used them for the first time today, i enjoyed the fire works display but didn't find them terribly destructive. What were they like in ETW?

I think you mean "easily overpowered by any other troop type".
They didn't hit jack, and if they did, hardly killed anything.

They are a bit stronger now, but really only lethal in close range...
I never use them, but because their shot spreads out a lot, the best use I can think of for them is putting the "under artillery" morale debuff on several units at once.
I have seen them kill some horses twice too.

I think in ETW they don't explode mid-air as much as they did in NTW,
about the power level, in distance they hardly do anything
But in close range they are truly devastating.

    (In ETW atleast)

I also enjoys fire work too

Used it several time in single battle, (H-2vs2)

It manages to kill usually around 40s while my old guard are often nearly reach 300

Rockets were fairly useless in ETW; if I saw my opponent brought them in a multiplayer match in ETW, I knew I would win because my opponent had just wasted a large amount of gold. I could literally march across the field and take zero casualties despite rockets raining down on me the whole time.

In NTW, however, they've become far more effective. Cavalry in particular is extremely vulnerable to rockets; several batteries of rockets firing together at one cavalry unit can rout it in just two or three volleys. Rockets also reload faster than they did in ETW and like daniu mentioned, as you get closer to a rocket battery its accuracy and lethality noticeably increase. Very deadly against cavalry.

Still not very effective against infantry, but better than the ETW rockets (useful enough that on occasion even I brought a rocket crew to my multiplayer matches). Don't be concerned about the rockets exploding in midair, they actually seem to do their best damage when they explode just above the heads of the enemy.

Well, rockets are not really something you rely on to cause heavy casualties (this actually holds true for most artillery, and is a mistake people often make in online matches). Your infantry and cavalry will always be the main tools of destruction, artillery is there to just help make their job easier.

Rockets support the troops by demoralizing the enemy and also restricting the movements of enemy cavalry. Since they have such long range, they can reach pretty much the entire map so you don't have to worry about limbering/unlimbering. They are indirect fire so you can safely shoot over your troops and also nullify any ground cover the enemy is trying to use. So, when your troops do come into contact with the enemy, the enemy has been weakened enough to tip the balance in your favor.

And that's good because AFAIK they were fairly useless in real life.

    This.
I used to have a running gag with my friend Clausewitz when hosting 2v2s:
him: "no fixed" (when someone entered)
    me: "not even rockets?"
    him: "okay, rockets allowed"
and we would laugh our butts off when someone would go "so, I can take rockets?" and actually bring them

Frankly, I am shocked. I had no idea you were so cruel, daniu! You are a terrible, terrible person! As soon as I stop laughing I'll be sure to 'de-friend' you!!

I use them to scare enemy troops and harass cavalry. Seems to do a good job of it.

They are used to cover the enemies nice, clean jackets with soot so that they must run home and clean them.

You can only use rockets by clicking the "disband" button. They're almost useless, better get a howitzer, IMO

totally agree, tried use it many ways alternatively just to make sure that i was not too prejudice to it.

Turns out it still sucks, I send them to kill route enemy instead 120s kills

While my young guard manage to kill 678 in total.

I am a heavy user of artillery/defensive lines in my battles and have now found a use for rocket troops My front line now consists of four units of Pied de Artilerie interspersed amongst the regiments in my main defensive line, with two units of 7pound howitzers and 2 units of Rocket troops either behind the front line or positioned on high hills or cliffs behind the front line, grouped as 1 howitzer and 1 rocket troop per position. Im finding this to work extremely well with the rocket troop demoralizing on coming infantry and the howitzer scattering them. Any infantry that make my front line are completely shredded with cannister shot has been working great!
