    Default Hail Caesar!

How exactly does the Emperor unit work? Does he immediately take over leadership of the faction upon being recruited or something? Is he pretty much the same as any other general type or is there something special about him?

We Spartans are wise in war, not politics.

He's just a normal general as far as i can tell, you could always get him adopted if he did well enough in his military career and then make him faction heir.

No. Trigger the reforms, build up Rome and build the Castra Praetorium (or whatever it's called) there. Then you can recruit the Emperor unit, which is effectively a recruited general, but with better stats.

does he look any different or have ancillaries to give him dramatically improved security?

i.e. does he have any distinguishing attributes compared to other recruitable FM's

When you say better stats do you mean like hit points or command stars and what not?

I'm not actually sure on his specific stats, but the unit starts with 2 (or maybe 3?) silver chevrons, thus better combat stats

TBH, I always thought that this unit slot could've been used for a real unit. I never used Augustus unit, I mean if you wanna RP, just use your FL as Augustus.

Well, this unit won't be in RS2, but the trait system will hopefully mirror Roman Imperial politics rather well.

I always liked the trait and ancilliaries system in EB, in the way it reflected Roman politics.
