I have the sneaking feeling that Steam just nuked part of my NTW data as part of this "patch."

My data folder is 15.6 gigs in size right now with several files reading 1 or 0 KB
    (including "media.pack").

With my blazing Iraq download speed of 13k/second MAX, it'd take me a freaking fortnight to redownload half the game. Anyone able to offer me any feedback on this? I fear I'm going to have to reinstall the game just so I only have to deal with two straight days of downloading instead of two weeks.

I freaking hate Steam. Steaming pile of dog crap.

The patch itself should be 1.2 gigabytes. Check downloafds and see how big whatever its downloading is.

Welp, according to Steam, I've got 23 hours of downloading remaining at the current speed. Which, of course, won't be maintained. At some point tomorrow I will lose power in my housing unit when they refuel the generators and thus lose my internet connection.

No NTW for me for a few days.

    GOD I freaking HATE Steam!

Not sure about N:TW, but with E:TW steam just ignored that setting and went ahead and downloaded patches anyway.

Bingo. Besides: I WANT to patch the game. What I don't want is for Steam to start redownloading entire chuncks of the game as it took upon itself.

Steam freaking completely deleted ETW a few months back and tried to redownload the entire game. When it wasn't supposed to patch at all.

Steam sucks. Its tollerable when you have high speed internet, but that doesn't mean it sucks any less.

My "data.pack" is now at 0 kb.

I just got screwed by Steam. Again. Did this a few months back with ETW, now this.

Glad I have my install discs, that's all I can say...

    Steam is a freaking nightmare.

Yeah it tried to make me download 8 gigabytes this patch, jolly annoying.

Which is a fundamental problem with the whole Steam concept.

You don't even have to be in Iraq - Even in the UK and US there are huge areas with crap internet speeds because its not economic for telecomms companies to upgrade their lines.

By making Steam obligatory Sega and CA are just saying a giant you to a large portion of their potential audience.

It seems that the last patch of Steam includes the Penisular campaign. In fact even if you do not buy the DLC, it is included in the patch. Of course, it is not activated until you pay.
