Peninsular Campaign all it could be?

Does anyone else think that the Peninsular campaign was recklessly thrown together without many important details? I dont know if its just residue from my mods that I had to get rid of but I couldent see the names of the new unit types. I also couldent see names of the Generals given to me after liberating towns to Spain along with any real description upon doing several action and recieving missions. This seems like shoddy work to me and is proof that the NTW modding community can do a better job than DLC. When I have the choice of taking control of a British army in Egypt and fight zulus etc/Taking control of the Empire of Germany and fighting France in World War One/playing as any faction with about 100 minor tweaks to the game that make it more fun and in some cases more accurate OR fighting a french army with all of the same bugs in vanilla, only worse because there are so many gaping holes in the campaign, really only inroducing two major improvements, fograsse and outside deployment. anybody else fell this way?

And anyone else find the new main menu color hideous?

the problems you have such as not seeing names is mostly likely caused by mods. i have not had any of the issues you mentioned.

Definitely not CA's fault. Its your mods that are causing this problem.

i think the white uniforms are not a bug. they seems to be mixed in with guys wearing blue, etc. i kinda like it. the French Army in 1811 was not what it was in 1809.

Well, the Brown uniforms are supposed to be in there, yes, to represent the undersupplied French army in Spain. But the white uniform bug is stil there, even though CA said that it had gone.

Nah i still have all my soldiers turning white when their in combat but with my heavy worklife and hectic family schedule i value every moment of game time i get, so entire regiments turning white doesn't particularly bother me, i have more important things to worry about

    EDIT
    woot post 300.....THIS IS SPARTA!!!

The ironic thing with this thread is that the OP is blaming CA for the "shoddy work" on the Pennisular campaign and glorifying mods, and yet in reality it is mods that are causing him the problems!

Edit: Yeah, actually the white uniform parts for the French are supposed to be there, as are the grey trousers. What I was refering to was the old bug where your ENTIRE ARMY goes white.

This is absolutely ridiculous, you yourself say its probably the mods causing the problems yet decide to go ahead and bash CA regardless. When problems are caused with a new update you should always assume mods ard causing them first and formost and do a fresh reinstall. CA have no obligation to make sure every little mod is compatible with a new update. It pisses me off the amount of ignorant people that create threads like this after every update. No wonder CA don't want to support modding if they end up getting blamed for problems caused by mods.

It is the mods that cause the text problems in the Peninsula campaign. The French with white waistcoats are not a bug , just never seen pictures of that type of uniform in the hundreds of illustrations of the period.
The OP's valid point is that he has lost his mods which I agree are vastly superior to anything the vanilla game has produced.

Get rid of your unit compatability project or get the updated one (if there is one yet). That should solve the problem of your text dissappearing.

Did fresh install, but the problems seem to still be there and all traces of mods removed. Any other ideas?

Are you sure the problem isn't that you need to deleted the United Compatibility Project mod? I did that and the text names/descriptions came back. A few others have this problem too. I like the new intro screen btw.

All it could be? Maybe not in terms of unit variety, but maybe modders can add more units like Napoleonic Iberian troops e.g. Portuguese Legion is already in the Foreign Legions NTW mod and while it doesn't make them recruitable in the Peninsular Campaign, it would seem a possibility in future.

I'd like to apologize for this thread, I started it during a midnight burst of anger over the old bugs and what appeared to be even more bugs coming from this dlc, it certainly though is not all it can be but I should not hve said shoddy work, it's a gross overstatement, while it still does not seem o be working properly I am still very content with my guerilla raids terrorizing the French. Ca did do an ok job on the dlc and I shoudlent have spouted off about this until I thought it over more even though I removed all my mods (which I do think are vastly superior but I will just have to wait for the peninsular mods to come out ) over all it's not as bad as my rambling said so I apologize ca now since I'm still rambling I'll think I'll stop
