Announcement
I'll re-upload some of the completed tables in the second post in the coming days for further refinement - and before I get questions regarding why I do this, I'd like to make it clear that this doesn't mean I'm dissatisfied with any of the files I received, I'm just looking for other players as well to have a look at them.
You surely know the saying, two heads are better than one, and with this in mind I invite more players to take part in this project to reach its ultimate goal: that is to create the best name list for the Stainless Steel mod up to date.
So, from now on I also welcome volunteers who would like to contribute to this project in any form - just contact me either here or in pm if you want to have a look at one of the lists. It's not a problem if you won't touch it eventually though, as verifications are also appreciated.
Of course, everyone who took part in the making of this mod will get due credit and rep point(s) in the end, that's the least I can offer.![]()
KhwarazmShahian's name table is finished.
Hope you enjoy it.![]()
You bet I enjoy it! Although some formatting will be needed, you did an excellent work!
+rep as promised (and I'll contact you about the Timurid names in pm)
The Persian table has been removed from the first post.
Based on the advice of Babur, a distinguished member of TWC, the Timurid names will appear in a unique language in the mod, the Chaghatai Turkish.
Fortunately, he's also willing to complete their name list and already started to work on it.
Note: a new Timurid table has been added to the first post.
Hello, I've made a little update with Portuguese names, the current ones seemed ok to me, I added a few more.
Cassius: "Our men at arms have secured the city. We've received representatives from all the best elements. The senate is with us, the knights are with us."
Brutus:"The pontifs, the urban cohorts, the lictors guild..."
Antony: "Oh, the lictors guild, very good. Only rally the bakers and the flute players and you can put on a festival."
Thanks, good job, the rep point goes immediately!![]()
Ok Fair Prince, I have finished to look to the excel table and there is only one mistake.
Gian isn't a stand alone name but should be accompanied by another name.
Examples
Gian Mario de Medici
Gian Ruggero Imperiale
Gian Fabio Farnese
I'm looking to add more names and post the edited table as soon I can grab the software to edit the table.![]()
Great, thanks in advance!
Btw, I like your examples above and if I may ask, please include them in the list(s).![]()
Graeme has completed the list of English names, and he did an outstanding work by doing extensive research on contemporary names and making plenty of corrections and additions.
A deserved rep goes to him for his efforts.
The English table has been removed from the first post.
Now with Teutons... if HRE and Teuton names show spelling differences in my version then prefer HRE spelling-type
Thanks, good job!
The rep goes right away.
Well here my revised list of names with more names added by me, some names are very "uncommon" and rare, they give a feeling of originality to your characters.
I'll add more and more names in future now that I have learned how to edit a spreadsheet so this isn't yet definitive.
Good work (+rep), I'll contact you in pm to give some further instructions.
Good news for SS players: with a view in the future I decided to include Georgian names in the mod as well, and fortunately, Tadzreuli has already agreed to create a proper name list for the faction.
Note: a new Georgian table has been added to the first post.
I have corrected the Georgian characters names and surnames for XII-XIV c.
